Jeff was nice enough to allow me to upload my Fast Dice Soccer game for excel. I have uploaded a total of 5 files. One is the excel game, another which has leagues for the game, one that is the boardgame charts and two huge player spreadsheets which contain players sorted by club side and then nation.

I'd like to update the game again with all the transfers which took place in January 2005 and beyond, but I've had trouble doing so. Sorry about this. I'll continue to work at resolving the microsoft error which occurs most likely because I'm straining the resources when trying to load the Football Manager 2005 game with all nations selected. For those of you who dont know, the Fastcard and now Fast Dice Soccer game contains players that I convert from the Championship Manger series of games and now Football manager 2005.

The 2004 files that I uploaded took around 10 hours just for the game to load. It then took something like 20 mins just to save the file. I then exited the game and went about manipulating all the data. For whatever reason, the game crashes now after about 5-10 mins of loading the 51 nations. I know the game works because if I only load a few nations, it works fine. Unfortunately, to get all the players in the database, I need to load all 51 nations.

If you have any questions regarding Fast Dice Soccer, please dont hesitate writing me. Patrice Corouge did a marvelous job creating the excel version which I hope you enjoy.

Although I have uploaded the files, Jeff Downey will still need to do something on his end so that you can see them and download them. Depending on his schedule, it may be a day or perhaps longer. All I can do is ask that you keep checking. I'll post another message both here and on delphi when they're available.

Post subject: Fast Dice - New Update  PostPosted: May 03, 2005 - 01:14 PM

As it turns out, I will have a new update out soon. It will have over 191,000 players and will include transfers through Feb05. There are 58 nations/leagues that can be played, however I dont know when or if I will update the actual league file. The template is there to do that though for any team one may desire. Should have this completed in the next few days.

The new update is coming along nicely. I should have it completed and uploaded to Jeff Downey by the end of the weekend. As it turns out, this will be the largest update I have ever had. There will be over 207,000 players in all. Please be advised, since the update is different from the previous one, ratings may vary. I have also made a slight change in my conversion from FM2005 to Fast Dice, in regards to the 2-8 range of ratings. There will be a few more players rated 8 than before.

The 2005 (second half of current season) have been uploaded. There's a total of over 207,100 players included. Please be advised, the one league that has not been updated almost at all, is the MLS. I printed out all the rosters and current stats and was going to update it, but I'm afraid the league just doesnt interest me enough. If some wishes to do so, please let me know.

I have begun work on updating a new International League file. I have extracted 180 International Squads (based on best players and I'm sorry to say, not based on current International rosters. If someone wishes to take what I'm working on and insert all current Internationals, please let me know that too.

Then there are the leagues I already have included with the previous post (1st half of 2004-5 season. I'm not sure I will update it or not. It certainly is all there if anyone wants to work on certain leagues.

Enjoy the game!

Jeff

This game has been just a joy to play. Thanks so much for making it available!!

I am a big fan of the MLS, so if you get a chance to post an update, that'd be great.

Jeff,

Did you just overwrite the previous file? If so, let me know, and I'll make it so the DL section shows this as a new file.

How do you get the teams copied over? Sorry, I don't understand how to get them over to the actual game itself.

Thank you!!

In order to use the latest players or any for that matter, you will need to create the teams in the league file. YOu can just copy and paste the data into there, make out your lineups and then you are ready to import to the game. If you have any trouble, please let me know.

Hugo,

You can download it right here from Jeff's website. It has last season's teams/leagues. I have been meaning to update it with this season per several requests for it, but just havent gotten to it. Its quite a bit of work converting all the data.

It seems I didn't find the answer for this on the rules (even on the original FCS rules)...

Let's say a particular player is taking a corner... If the same player is used during the strike sequence (assuming a header, for example), how do you proceed?

1. He is faster than light: sacrifice reality, but keep the rules consistent
2. Wait a second, it couldn't happen: Re-roll
3. There's no one there: proceed to counter-attack sequence as there was a gap on the attacking team

I'm tempted to use the 3rd option, but I'd like to hear the "official" answer.

Regards,

Marcelo Paschoalin
