Post subject: Headed Goal Ratings coming soon!

I've received a number of emails recently concerning 2011-12 ratings for Headed Goal...yes I'll be doing them again this year (most of the seasons are already completed).
As in the past, I'll be posting EPL, La Liga, Serie A, and Bundeliga seasons.
In addition, I'm alos doing Euro 2012.
All of these will be available at John Gardiner's Sports Replays website.
The seasons should be ready for release no later than the third week of September...if not sooner!
I'll post here when they're up on John's website. |

AWESOME!!
I've done a couple of smaller leagues for myself and it wasn't easy to find stats let alone positions.
The bigger leagues may be easier to find the info but the time and effort is still there. I know that I am happy when I see any league available especially when they are of the quality of these.

Always great that other HG players appreciate the ratings! A few years ago, I tried to do some of the South American leagues (Brazil, Argentina, etc.) and Mexico. The data and lineups are difficult to deal with because they're not always complete.
If you've done some of these leagues, however, why don't you send them to John Gardiner's Sports Replays website? I'm sure that many of us HG fanatics would love to play them.
An update on my progress! I've picked up some momentum and have rated EPL, Serie A, Bundesliga, and La Liga (all 2011-12). They're all in beta stage and need to be refined.
I have all the logos and grounds images collected. My final task after "tweaking" the ratings will be the player photos for each league.
I might be able to get all this done and have them posted by September 15th...worst case would be September 22nd. The Euro 2012 will be ready the first full week in October.

I would love to share what I have created but I don't know horn
I create the leagues within HG but when I check for them in the data folder, they are not there. There isn't an export option within the program so I'm stuck. Any help would be welcomed.

You might have done the same thing that I'd done...download the game without establishing yourself as "administrator". If so just click on your hard drive/local disc and type "headed goal" in the "Search" section (right upper hand corner). This will bring up all of your related HG files. Your ratings would be in the data file marked something like this:
C\Users\your name..whatever you use\App\Data\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files
All that you've rated would be in the "Data" file in this folder.
To have them posted just make a copy (Right Click than "Copy") and send the copy to John Gardiner at
jgardiner@sportsreplays.net
Just provide John with a brief description of what you're sending him so he knows how to post it.
Any questions/problems, just post here...I check the forum at least once a day! |

The amount of gratitude I have at this moment can not be expressed in words. I have had this game for years and I FINALLY found where my leagues are. I have the 2007 Icelandic top division and the 2009-10 Aussie A League. I will get them over to Sports Replay site when I can.
I have another Q for ya. The 2010 update never worked properly for me. It installed fine and I can see it within the program but when I try to load the season, the game crashes. I can play friendlies with the teams and if I copy the season WITHOUT competitions, I can create my own league and cups and it works fine.
Have you, or anyone else, encountered this?

That's a problem I had only learned of last year...simple solution, however!
Don't ask me why, but when you create a season, the grounds assigned are not included in the season folder. Instead, they go into your general/overall grounds folder.
So if you don't have those specific stadiums entered in your grounds file and assigned to a team, you wind up crashing when you attempt to play a season. I didn't realize this two years ago insofar as those particular stadiums are in my folder.
Last year (and this year when they're posted), I provided a sheet with the grounds information to cross-check.
All you'll need to do to solve this problem is create/assign grounds to each of the teams in your league. Once you do that, you should be good to go!
There are grounds photo packs at John's website for each league I've rated; so you might want to use the titles of the photos to speed things up.
Personally, I'm somewhat self-conscious/embarrassed concerning those 2009-10 ratings. They were my first attempt at rating HG teams and were thrown together very quickly (in about a month!) to coincide with the new release of HG in August 2010.
I like to think that each season I rate is a little better than the previous!
And your ratings sound really interesting! I'd love to play them...so don't wait too long to post them!
