| Absolutely love this 'quicker' play football game. It allows you to capture the essence of a football game with statistics but without having to play each down. Nicely done, great alternative. My only complaint (if you want to call it that) is that there are not many seasons available. What are the plans for making past and present seasons available? Also, any plans for a greatest teams? I just love the POTG Hockey greatest teams. I think this game would be perfect for that kind of offering. Thanks again. |

We continue to release seasons for the game, and will do so again in the fall. |

I can tell you that the game is very good, but I've never played MJF. This and GWD are both very good games.... |

I would love to see concurrent seasons released for Mean Gene & Momentum, so both could be incorporated into a replay. Right now I think the only season in common is 1976.

Unfortunately, the rating for both games is really time consuming and quite labour intensive.

Hi Phil,
Yes, I understand with Momentum Football. I was totally addicted to the game last year. I have pretty much cracked all the ratings for it, but whew! What a lot of work to rate even a single team. I'd far prefer to buy, but I'm not getting the feeling that many new seasons are on the horizon, but maybe...?
Mean Gene on the other hand looks like it may be easier. I've figured out almost all of the offesive ratings, and while defense may be a little more difficult I think it's doable. I really think this might be an easier one for rating teams but again, I'd prefer to buy them if possible. At any rate it's probably going to be my game for this year as it plays relatively quick and fun, accomplishes what it sets out to do, and I think I'll be able to rate teams I need in a reasonable amount of time. And I can also add some home brew options that like.
BTW, I vote for teams from the 60's if anyone cares. |

50's and 60's are the years of choice for me. I love the AFL and I do play quite a few AFL seasons with Momentum. I have cracked most of the ratings for momentum too and did the 74 WFL and I agree, it is very time consuming. But worth it in the long run.

Ah, the old AFL. I didn't like it at first, but then it grew on me. Blanda, Parilli, Gilchrist, et al. What I liked was that each team seemed to develop its own distinct personality, much more so than in the NFL at the time.
