DIALED IN SOCCER
For those that have never checked out Net Results Soccer, I figured this might be a good time to make a post to teach people a little about the game.
It's an individual card based game that will give you ever player that played a minute on any team in the given season represented. It accurately reflects just about every aspect of the game BASED ON THE INDIVIDUAL'S STATISTICAL DATA.
I think most games look at football/soccer and give it a team element and try to base the results on what the team's accomplishments were. In some respect it seems most games do that. This one is different. Just like most sports board games many play IT TAKES THE INDIVIDUALS" ABILITIES and the TEAMS PERFORM BASED ON THOSE ABILITIES. Another aspect I feel this game probably surpasses most is it's ability to define defensive abilities for individuals AND give defenders an impact on the game.
Want to talk formations? Well, the players you put in the game dictate the formation, just as would happen in actual football/soccer. You want just one attacker, it's likely your defense will be stronger and you'll probably limit opponent shots, but consequently it's going to impact your defense as well. Want to bring more offense once you are down 1-0 during the 80th minute? You can do that, but taking out that defensive mid can make you more open to allowing a second goal as well. And this will happen BECAUSE OF THE PLAYERS YOU INCORPORATE INTO THE LINEUP, not through some artificial adjustment just because you changed your lineup. The players' actual ability will do that based on their cards.
