I played the 1960 Series with these results - The Yankees won 4 games to 1, splitting in Pittsburgh and then sweeping the Pirates in Yankee Stadium. The Yankees out scored the Bucs 29 - 19 in the five games. Maris and Boyer each hit 2 HRs but Kubek led with 6 RBIs, Maris having 5 and Mantle and Boyer each had 4. Stuart hit 2 HRs and Skinner led in RBIs with 5, Smith and Mazeroski each adding 3. No pitcher on either side had more than 1 decision except for surprising Tom Cheyney who got the Bucs only win but also lost Game 5. Art Ditmar got a win and a save for the pinstripes. This a game that provides a lot of fun in a short time.

I like reading your Series write up.
How are you getting your individual stats to add alittle more color?
The QP game sounds like fun.

I just figure the season percentages for each player in HRs,RBIs ,Wins,Losses and Saves of the teams totals and apply a 1-100 dice roll to assign each applicable category. It's not totally accurate but it does add more interest. The lengthy part is figuring the %s but to me it's worth the time.I'm attemting a sweason replay of the '62 Colt .45s and I'll try to post results for each month of the season.

Really nice write-up.
I enjoyed it.

It always amazes me how great it is to read write-ups like this.
It's like listening to the games on radio, or something.

Can you share how you did this? How do you know how many homers were hit and such? If you have any charts or formulas you would care to share, could you post them to this site or send them to:

Thanks. You writeups have been interesting.

Rick, I first select players to track, actual participants for Series, 100 AB or 1 pitching decision for season replay.I add up the HR & RBI totals for hitters & get each one's % of total (Player 1 has 25% his rating =1-25;player 2 has 8% his = 26-33) & so on for the roster. The last player should have a terminus of 100.I then figure % of team's games with a HR( 100 HR in 162 games= 62%) and roll 1-100 dice to see if HR was hit( excluding shutouts when I don't check for HR/RBI).I then roll dice to assign HR if one was hit & RBIs based on number of runs scored.Pitcher's wins & losses are distributed in the same manner, figuring each one's % of team's wins & losses and asigning a rating for a dice roll,Saves are determined by getting the % of team wins with a save(35 saves in 82 wins= 43%). Roll dice after each win & if 1-43 then roll to assign save based on each pitcher's % of total team saves. You will get some odd resultrs, hitters with HR but no RBI or pitcher with decisions in consecutive games but over a full season I think it will even out. For a short series I tweak reults to be more logical(RBI given on HR even if one was not rolled.with remaining RBIs reduced by 1; re-rolls to avoid consecutive pitching deciisions by starters).Figuring the team %s takes me about 15-20 minutes per team and figuring game totals about 5 minutes for both, but I like the spice it adds to the game & besides I'm an old guy and like seeing my Topps cards come back to life. Hope this makes some sense & please post any questions or comments here or email me at joepost51@yahoo.com. Keep 'em rooling. JP
