I am excited about taking the International Athletics simulation over and updating it, as I was involved in the original playtesting of this game way, way back with Terry Goodchild of Lambourne Games
"The Replay World of International Athletics" will be updated to modern style clearer fonts for the charts making it easier to read, larger typeface time conversion charts ( for all those with older eyes !) and a few other modernisations PLUS include these new events that makes it the most comprehensive and accurate Athletics Simulation around. ALL track and field events will be in one game package except the combined events which needs the scoring charts book as well to be run properly so is an optional add on. All add-ons currently available will be updated and ready to purchase and will be available by e-mailed pdf format as I do for Grand Slam Tennis.
The 2012 standard set will include the 2011 Personal Best times, and there will be a 2012 Pre- Olympic Add On Set so anyone can preplay any or all the Athletic events of the 2012 Olympics. In due course there will be a 2013 standard set with 2012 annual PB's.
I will also be making other add on event and annual sets available, as there are a lot of calculations and typing to make a full set yourselves although this remains possible of course. I think its important that the game remains fresh and up to date, doesnt matter if you want to replay the Olympics or World Championships OR just a smaller event or even just a race or two. "What-ifs" are half the fun of this accurate simulation and needs current ratings easily available for you to use as well as historical ones.
Like the Grand Slam Tennis Game, before taking this project on I ensured that I have access to a huge database of Athletic Meeting Results and Athletes records, which incidentally and interestingly is more comprehensive than the IAAF site, and I can download information to easily work on for the new sets.
The timescale is tight but it will be available before the Olympics starts - along with a new game that I am also working on to compliment the Athletics Simulation which should also be out before the Olympics and have regular updates going forward, "The Replay World of International Swimming"
Both these games will be available on my site along with GRAND SLAM TENNIS (regular and historical rating update sets) and RYDER CUP REPLAY (soon to have a new set issued), and of course CARD GOLF at www.sportsreplays.net online shop. Advance details are up there now.

I am pleased to announce that Sportsreplays Games version of the above, entitled The Replay World of International Athletics, has been released. It now includes rules for EVERY Track and Field Event (including Relays, and Walk events) and if you want to run a special unusual length event the rules are there for you to create it !!
The Charts and Tables are now VERY easy to read and the Rules Book has been rewritten in to one book. Even if you have the original version of the game it may be well worth your while getting this comprehensive update for much easier playing of the game and the new content ! Planned to release updates including a Pre 2012 Olympics rating set
