TBG is simply amazing!! I've only played 4 matches and I can feel the excitement and catch myself giving play by play commentary (with a cheesy Brit accent)! Now how about Full Time?
* Are there rating formulas like TBG that make it easy to rate your own players/teams?
* How suitable is it for solataire play? Could one play a game vs. a "gameplan" that another person provides? Or, are there solataire charts that provide an opponent that challenges you?
* Or finally, is this one version that truly needs two opponents?
AS ALWAYS THANKS IN ADVANCE--and everhat--I expect you to be the first to provide an answer/opinion! We need to pair up on a replay or team creation project! |

HAHA!
TBG is something -
I'm not too much on team creation (I have never even tried the TGB Rate Your Own Teams bit) but a Replay would be something I would be open to.
I have begun my own EPL 2008/09 Replay (which you know about) and have only gotten through Week #1. I use the actual season schedule for that year:
http://epl.theoffside.com/schedule
I haven't played Full Time, but some of the fellow tabletoppers here have recommended it to me. It's another Lambourne/Owzat game, right? Can't go wrong with that -
Shoot me some ideas on a Replay Project - |

I am also doing the 2008/2009 EPL Replay. We need to compare end results!!
I have also begun creation on ALL TIME WORLD CUP TEAMS. I have researched Brazil and Germany this am and should have their team charts completed by this evening! I will be creating a yahoo groups site and will have them downloaded as I complete them. I will post a link later as to the yahoo site that will be dedicated to my EPL and All TIme World Cup Teams for TBG! |

Howdy,
I own, enjoy and rate teams for both. I only play solitaire. (It is next to impossible to find a "Soccer" fan here in the US willing to play a tabletop version)
It doesn't come with direction on how to rate teams but a little bit of studying the game, it can be figured out. Pretty simple formulas.
In Full Time you can choose formations, defensive and offensive strategy, and substitutions. The refs even influence the game.
As for game plan charts the only ones I've seen have been for squad rotation. It really isn't a game that needs something like that. The game engine kinda takes care of that.
But the thing that really brings Full Time to the top of the football replay hill is 2 things(or games):
1. Goal Chance. This is a quick play highlight game that in my opinion is much better that TBG. Don't get me wrong TBG is awesome. This is just saying that Goal Chance is INCREDIBLE! It comes with Full Time for a few extra quid.
2. Final Score. This is a game that takes the Full Time concept and improves on it. The detail is greater and the game play is wonderful. You can use the teams from Full Time and use them with Final Score. You can find this at RJH games for 13 quid.
With these 4 games, one can replay a league as fast or as detailed as needed. I have even played goal chance while stuck in traffic! javascript:emoticon(' ')

Oh-oh.
I might have to take a stab at Full Time or Final Score
I just don't know if I can do that to my copy of TBG (I love the game unashamedly and think it is one of the best designed and executed board games/sports games I have ever played - and I have played a lot).
I guess I could play Full Time or Final Score with my "favorite" team(s) matches and play TBG for the rest of the league/tournament games.....
Now I have a question:
Full Time or Final Score |

Owzatgames via Lambourne Games, etc.
HA!
Right here:
http://www.owzatgames.com/c/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=93&zenid=shf86cnkg5dsipoh39572543o4
You can order the game with a deck of playing cards (needed to play the game) or without a deck of playing cards.
I ordered mine with playing cards - because I wanted a set of playing cards from England (that were probably made in China, anyway) - ahem.
The conversion price is all right and the shipping wasn't too bad either.
The game is well worth it. |

Only play solitaire and would like to fool around with rating some teams. Some folks here do say and say they have a clue how to do it. I don't. Any help available? Would never sell anything I did to hurt Terry and Ozwat, some of the great folks in gaming.

It is kind of hard to imagine that you have the game and still have no idea how to rate teams. The game comes with very detailed instructions on how to do it. |

It depends what game he is inquiring about. Full Time doesn't come with any instructions on how to rate teams (at least my copy of it didn't). |

| Well since the title of his topic is: How to rate players in The Beautiful Game, I didn't think it was a stretch to assume what game he was talking about. |

Maybe there's a software glitch. On my brower the title of the topic reads
