Using the Red Zone Modifications is it only the Qb Rating that increases by 3 or does it apply to the Rec Rating as well.
The Red Zone Modifications will improve the defense's RUSH D by 2, the PASS D by 3. However, when the rules were written there weren't split pass defense grades, and I'm not sure there's ever been an official ruling on this. If I was playing it, I would give the 3 boost to both the PASS D and PASS YDG. So, for instance, the 2015 Lions defense is normally +2 PASS D, 0 PASS YDG, but in the Red Zone I would change them to -1 PASS D, -3 PASS YDG. Not sure that's the right way to do it statistically, but to me it makes sense to change both ratings.
