1. Kelly Kiniski and "Golden Boy" Chick Donovan wrestled to a 10:00 Time Limit Draw. Chick may have been saved by the bell in tonight's opening bout. Kiniski landed a Backbreaker across the knee just as time was expiring. The bell rang before Referee Fred Sinclair could complete his pin count.
2. Koko Ware (w/ PYT partner Norvell Austin) defeated Jerry Allen at 4:17. Austin's constant jawing from ringside was clearly a distraction for Allen. Koko capitalized with a Drop Kick from behind that sent his opponent flying through the ropes and out onto the floor. Norvell roughed up Jerry a bit before rolling him back inside the ring where he was finished off by a Brainbuster from Ware.
3. Mike "Hammer" Reed received a prematch pep talk from Jake "The Snake" Roberts prior to his bout with Mike Von Erich. While Jake's speech may have inspired Reed somewhat, it did not curtail the famous Von Erich Claw Hold from being applied leading to a submission at 3:58. Mike challenged Roberts to get in the ring after the bell which drew a sly smile from the Snake but nothing more.
4. Percy Pringle III's crew is on a roll. "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer (w/ a little help from his friends) defeated Iceman King Parsons via Count Out at 8:22. Parsons was in control of this match until Sawyer's tag team partner "Maniac" Matt Borne pulled the top rope down causing the Iceman to fall out of the ring and land hard on the floor. While Referee Marvin Jones was admonishing Borne for his actions, Percy Pringle took advantage of the moment by clubbing Parsons over the back with his walking stick. The Iceman was down and out for the subsequent ten count.
5. The match between Al Madril and the Great Kabuki yielded no winner. The ring could not contain this bitter feud as both men took turns punishing one another OOR with various objects. The bout was offically declared a Double Count Out by Referee Rick Hazzard at 7:47 although a Double Disqualification ruling would have also been justified.
6. "Playboy" Gary Hart had been on his best behavior while providing commentary on tonight's card at the announcers' table with Bill Mercer. That all changed in the Main Event when the devious Hart appeared to slip a foreign object to the One Man Gang while the masked Red River Jack (Bruiser Brody) was pummeling him outside the ring. A loaded uppercut to the jaw with the concealed weapon made all the difference. Jack went down like a ton of bricks and struggled to get back to his feet as Referee Fred Sinclair laid on the ten count. Your winner by Count Out at 9:31: the One Man Gang.

1. A missed leap from the top rope spelled curtains for Roberto Soto in tonight's opening bout against Killer Tim Brooks. The cagey Brooks was playing possum on the canvas and lifted a knee just as Soto was landing on him to knock the wind out of his opponent. The Killer then hopped up to the 2nd rope and finished off Roberto with a Flying Knee Drop at 4:45.
2. Bob "The Cat" Bradley fared no better than Soto with his own brand of aerial tactics in his match with Mike Von Erich. The agile Bradley connected with a Drop Kick to the kisser but went to the well once too often and missed on a second one. Mike then pounced on his fallen foe with the famous Von Erich Claw Hold for the submission win at 3:57.
3. "Mr. U.S.A." Tony Atlas overpowered Jack Victory en route to "victory" at 6:27. Tony had some problems with his opponent's brawling style, but a double chop to the solar plexus put Mr. U.S.A. in the driver's seat. Atlas followed up with a overhead Military Press Slam and then added a Body Splash to score the three count.
4. The Grappler (Len Denton under a mask) is known for having a suspiciously heavy and effective boot. His opponent Skip Young could attest to that. Young, who has also wrestled under the moniker of Sweet Brown Sugar, was able to reverse a corner whip but ran full steam into the afore mentioned loaded boot. Skip went down like a shot and was pinned by the Grappler with a foot on the ropes for leverage at 7:38.
5. The bout between Cowboy Scott Casey and Black Bart rendered no winner. This one spilled onto the floor and back up the aisle toward the concession stands sending patrons scattering in every direction. Referee Bronco Lubich had a generously slow ten count but it still did not provide enough time for the combatants to get back in the ring. Bronco's official decision was a Double Count Out at 9:01.
6. Nicola Roberts' Dynamic Duo of "Gentleman" Chris Adams & "The Handsome Half Breed from Highland Park" Gino Hernandez put their Texas Tag Team Titles on the line against the popular South African Simpsons (Steve & Shaun) in tonight's Main Event. A ring full of chaos provided an Unusual Ending to decide this contest. Referee Dick Raines was knocked down in the action and apparently replaced (?) by David Manning just as two simultaneous pin attempts were occurring. Adams had Shaun Simpson cradled while Gino was caught in a Small Package by Steve Simpson. Manning counted the pin on Shaun Simpson while a woozy Raines did likewise on Hernandez. Raines overruled his fellow official and awarded the belts to the Simpsons. Replays confirmed that Steve Simpson and Chris Adams were technically the legal men in the ring at the time. Nevertheless, the Simpsons are the Neeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww Texas Tag Team Champions !

1. "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin (w/ Towel draped around his neck) made it look easy against Kent Glover. Ronnie dominated from the opening bell and got in his trademark Garvin Stomp as he circled his downed opponent with a stomp to virtually every part of Glover's body. Garvin may have even gotten the three count had he gone for a cover but he chose instead to let his opponent get back to his feet. Glover was then met by the lethal "Hands of Stone" Knockout Punch for the pinfall at 2:31.
2. "Downtown" Denny Brown knew he was in trouble when "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez ran down to ringside as if he had been shot out of a cannon and attacked before the bell had even rung. Announcer Johnny Weaver said that Fernandez was "making a statement" after his Steel Cage loss to "Boogie-Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant at Starrcade. Brown was out on his feet by the time he was knocked into the next zip code by Manny's Flying Burrito. Your winner: Manny Fernandez at 3:29.
3. "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson of the Four Horsemen had his hands full with veteran Nelson Royal. Anderson found himself in one pinning predicament after another but always managed to lift a shoulder or grab the ropes to save himself. The turning point came when Royal was planted with a DDT as he tucked his head for a Back Body Drop attempt. Arn then followed up with his Gourdbuster (Front Suplex) for the winning pin at 7:17.
4. The team of Rick Steamboat & Jay Youngblood emerged victorious over James J. Dillon's Desperados (Black Bart & "Outlaw" Ron Bass) at 11:45. Youngblood appeared to be fully recovered from knee injuries sustained at the hands of NWA World Champion Ric Flair a few of months ago as he came off the top rope with a Flying Cross Body Press onto a dazed Black Bart after both heels were sent crashing into one another from opposite corners.
5. Former Television Champ "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes had to overcome an unexpected visitor to defeat the Barbarian (w/ "Number One" Paul Jones) at 8:58. Tully Blanchard's "Perfect Ten" Baby Doll made her way down to ringside and proved to be quite a distraction. At one point she climbed up onto the apron and slapped the "Dream" across the face. Dusty threatened to let her have it but was blindsided with a Double Axe Handle from behind by his opponent in the nick of time. The Barbarian then scaled the top rope for his signature Swan Dive Head Butt but found nothing but canvas. Dusty quickly landed a Bionic Elbow Drop to gain the three count as Baby Doll high tailed it to the back.
6. "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff needed help to beat Chief Wahoo McDaniel in the Main Event. Wahoo, who is now hearing cheers instead of jeers from the fans, was in control until Referee Mike Atkins was sent sprawling to the mat after a collision. The Russian Bear appeared to tap out to McDaniel's Indian Death Lock but Atkins was still incapacitated from his bump in the ring to call for the bell. In the meantime, Ivan's nephew "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff then ran in with a chain and smashed it over Wahoo's back. Ivan hooked a leg for the pin as Atkins finally recovered to apply the three count on McDaniel.

David Crockett kicks things off by welcoming newcomer Thunderbolt Patterson to the Mid-Atlantic. Thunderbolt is warmly received by the fans but absolutely butchers his promo. Patterson will be -100 points for his debut match tonight.
1. Thunderbolt Patterson over George South at 4:43. The veteran South gets down and dirty with some eye gouges and chokeholds to take the early advantage. The fans once more get behind Patterson to spur on the comeback. A head butt rocks South but Patterson holds him up for another and then one more for good measure. South gets sent to the ropes and rebounds into a Double Thrust to the chest for the three count.
Jim Cornette snatches the mic away from David Crockett and tells him to take a hike. Cornette says that he is the only one qualified to introduce his team from "The Dark Side".
2. The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) beat the duo of Stoney Burke & Gerald Findlay. "Beautiful" Bobby offers Findlay a handshake to start things off and promptly kicks him in the gut when he accepts (it never gets old). Eaton dishes out some punishment and tags in his partner. Findlay gets more of the same from Stan. The Express keep Gerald close to their corner. Savate Kick from Lane. Findlay gets tossed into his own corner so that he can tag out. "Sweet" Stan holds the ropes open and motions for Stoney to "come get some". It's more of the same for Burke. Clothesline from Lane. Swinging Neckbreaker by Eaton. Tag. Double Russian Leg Sweep by the Express before Bobby exits. Flurry of Martial Arts kicks by Stan sends Burke back down to the mat. Eaton gets tagged in with the Rocket Launcher (Assisted Splash from the tope rope) for the pin at 3:59.
3. American Starship Eagle (A young Danny Spivey) was tested by Doug Vines but persevered in the end. A reverse head smash to the turnbuckle put Starship in control and was followed up with ten punches in the corner as the crowd counted along. Vines was then sent to the ropes and planted with a huge Powerslam from his opponent right in the middle of the ring. The Eagle probably could have pinned him right then and there but added a Running Leg Drop to seal the deal at 6:25.
4. Swarmy Tully Blanchard (w/ his "Perfect Ten" Baby Doll) over Gene Ligon at 3:02. Vintage Tully tonight. A legit handshake and some scientific wrestling to start things off. Tully even breaks clean when he backs Ligon up against the ropes ! A playful slap to the face gets Gene's dander up. Blanchard shows his true colors with a low knee to the groin. Ligon's a seasoned veteran but he can't get anything going against Tully. A measured knee drop to the forehead has Gene seeing stars. Blanchard holds his dazed opponent's head between the ropes for a slap from Baby Doll. Tully's Slingshot Suplex spells the end of the road for Ligon.
5. Krusher Khruschev (w/ Ivan & Nikita Koloff & Russian Flag) defeated Rocky King at 3:16. The fans' constant chants of "U.S.A. ! U.S.A. !" gave Rocky some bonus points but not nearly enough to overcome a mauling from Khruschev. A Russian Sickle off the ropes sends King spinning head over heels in mid air. Khruschev then clamps on a Cobra Clutch for the submission victory.
The NWA Champion is in a tizzy !! "Nature Boy" Ric Flair (w/ the Ten Pounds of Gold) is ranting at the announcers' desk with Tony Schiavone about Magnum T.A. going behind his back to ask the Executive Committee for a title match. Flair reminds us that he's "the Franchise" and that the Committee knows "which side their bread is buttered". He says that Magnum is nothing until he goes sixty minutes with the Champ ! "I've been taken to the limit once in my life and it took Lynda Carter and Bo Derek back-to-back to do that !" The Champ closes with his signature "Wooooo!" and struts off the set.
6. Magnum T.A. (w/ Black leather jacket) over "Gorgeous" Gary Royal at 2:54. While the outcome was never in doubt, we should credit Royal for almost lasting three whole minutes against the former US Champ. Magnum's television matches are notoriously brief, but Royal manages to get in some offense to prolong the bout. A flying Drop Kick to the kisser sets up Magnum's trademark Belly to Belly Suplex off the ropes for the three count.

1. Introduced as hailing from the University of Oklahoma by Ring Announcer Carl Murnick, Chief Wahoo McDaniel methodically took apart Vernon Deaton in a very lopsided opening bout. Deaton got in an occasional punch or eye rake but could muster little more in the way of offense against the Chief. Wahoo pinned him with a falling back hand chop to the forehead at 3:29.
2. "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff (w/ Uncle Ivan & Krusher Khruschev) spun "Golden Boy" Chick Donovan around in mid air like a top with a vicious Russian Sickle clothesline for what could have been, and should have been, an easy three count. The sadistic Nikita chose instead to clamp on a Cobra Clutch for the submission victory at 3:40.
3. In a total disregard for wrestling law and order, the Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal w/ "Precious" Paul Ellering & The Wallstreet Journal) mauled the State Patrol (Lt. James Earl Wright & Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker). The Patrol doesn't win too often but they usually put up a good fight. Not so tonight as Parker & Wright were simply manhandled by the Legion of Doom. Parker was military pressed overhead several times by Animal before being dropped face-first to the mat. When Buddy staggered back to his feet, he was met by Hawk's Flying Shoulder Tackle from the top rope for the pinfall at 4:26.
4. "Ragin' Bull" Manny Fernandez brought an intensity with him to the ring that the amiable youngster Sam Houston seemed ill prepared for. We have seen the mean side of Fernandez before, but the Bull took the brutality up a notch or two tonight after the lanky cowboy twisted his knee on an awkard landing following a leap frog attempt. Fernandez wasted no time in going after the injury with a series of wrenching knee twists, a single leg Boston Crab and a prolonged Figure Four Leg Lock. Writhing and bellowing in pain, Houston was finally able to grab the bottom rope to break the hold, but could put absolutely no pressure on the leg whatsoever as he struggled to get back to his feet. Despite Sam's protests, Referee Ron West stopped the bout and deemed Houston unable to continue at 7:13. Houston was being helped to the back by ring attendants when he was once again assaulted by Fernandez. The Bull was in the process of re-applying the Figure Four when "Boogie-Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant ran down to ringside to make the save.
5. Barry Windham from Sweetwater, TX over Black Bart (w/ "BB" Branding Iron & James J. Dillon) in a hard fought victory at 12:55. Even Referee George Grant took his lumps in this battle. The official became sandwiched in between a mid-ring collision of the grapplers that sent all three men toppling to the canvas. J.J. Dillon sensed an opportunity and slid Bart's branding iron into the ring for his man to use. Bart staggered to his feet but was driven face-first into the mat with a flying Bulldog by Windham as he bent over to retrieve the weapon. The woozy Grant then crawled over to make the three count.
6. The "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes defeated "The Rock" Ole Anderson (w/ Arn Anderson) by DQ at 9:36. Rhodes had his work cut out for him tonight when Tully Blanchard and Baby Doll also came down to ringside to join Arn Anderson in Ole's corner. Despite their distractions and interference, Dusty more than held his own and had his opponent reeling with a series of Bionic Elbows. The Horsemen thought that they had pulled one over on Referee Ron West when the Dream was KO'd by a loaded punch from Arn Anderson who snuck in the ring while West was preoccupied with Tully. West finally turned around to find Ole making the cover and counted the pin on Rhodes but reversed his decision when Magnum T.A. and Senior Official Tommy Young ran in from the back to inform him of Arn's interference. A melee then broke out in the ring with Dusty and Magnum fending off the Horsemen

1. The team of the Italian Stallion and Vinnie Valentino had two chances to beat Paul Jones' Army tonight - slim and none. "Ragin' Bull" Manny Fernandez & the Barbarian made sure it was the latter as they completely dominated this tag bout from start to finish. Fernandez could have easily pinned Valentino after his Flying Burrito off the ropes but opted instead to tag in the Barbarian who leapt off the top rope with a Swan Dive Head Butt to seal the deal at 4:50.
2. Jones and his men purposely stuck around for tonight's second match which featured "The Boogie-Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant going up against George South. Valiant was plenty distracted by the visitors at ringside but still managed to put away South with his Boogie-Woogie Elbow Smash/Elbow Drop Combo for the pinfall at 5:13. To no one's surprise Fernandez and the Barbarian rushed the ring after the bell and put a beating on Valiant. What was a surprising, however, was that the high-flying masked man Lazer Tron ran in with a chair to clean house and make the save.
3. Which brings us to Match #3 featuring the afore mentioned Lazer Tron meeting Black Bart. This bout was over before it seemingly had even begun as the Barbarian and Fernandez once again ran in and pummeled the masked man unmercifully for his interference in the Valiant affair. Never one to miss out on a whoopin', Bart chipped in with a few shots from his branding iron while Paul Jones' men held onto the helpless Lazer Tron. This time it was the Boogie-Woogie Man who came to the rescue. Valiant raced in with his "Old Lady" (a baseball bat with the name "Paul Jones" carved into the barrel) and ran off the heels. Your winner at 2:27 by disqualification: Lazer Tron.
4. In our first match without the presence of either the Barbarian or Mr. Fernandez, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson defeated "Pistol" Pez Whatley at 7:45. Pez made good use of his hard noggin and had Anderson reeling with a series of Head Butts, but a telegraphed Back Body Drop attempt proved to be his undoing. Arn planted Whatley with a DDT and then added a Gourdbuster (Front Suplex) for good measure to gain the three count.
5. Don Kernodle put his Television Title on the line tonight and came out on top against "Avalanche" Buzz Tyler. As the action spilled out onto the floor, Kernodle ran his challenger face-first into the TV Belt which was sitting atop the time keeper's table. The dazed Tyler stumbled around ringside and missed Referee Lucky Roberts' ten count. Your winner via Count Out at 8:30 and still Mid-Atlantic Television Champion: Don Kernodle.
6. In a barn burner, the duo of "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes & Magnum T.A. beat the Four Horsemen's Tully Blanchard & NWA World Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair in a tag team Main Event at 12:47. We had Bionic Elbows-a-plenty ! We had loud knife edge chops to the chest ! We had the "Flair Flop" face down to the mat ! We had Figure Four Leg Locks ! We had interference from Tully's "Perfect Ten" Baby Doll ! And we had Magnum pinning the Champ with his signature Belly to Belly Suplex off the ropes amidst a ring full of chaos for the winning pinfall !

1. Chris Sabin over Sonjay Dutt in a fast paced, high impact X Division match. Sabin caught Sonjay's Flying Body Press and reversed it into a Sitout Piledriver for the pinfall at 6:35.
2. The team of Gail Kim & Knockouts Champ Madison Rayne defeated O.D.B. & "Hardcore Country" Mickie James at 7:52. O.D.B.'s husband Eric Young, who has been rather smitten with Knockouts' ref Taryn Terrell in recent weeks, came down to ringside to watch the action. His jealous wife was trying to keep an eye on him when she was rolled up from behind by Madison Rayne for the pin.
3. "Mr. Pec-tacular" Jesse Godderz (w/ Tara) bailed from the ring and took the deliberate count out when things got rough against his opponent Gunner at 5:23. Godderz was more interested in his muscle poses and doting on girlfriend Tara than in the match itself.
4. Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) beat the Young Bucks (Max & Jeremy) at 6:50. Jeremy was perched on the top rope and ready to deliver a 450 Splash when he was shoved off from behind by Kazarian. Daniels followed up with a Double Jump Moonsault to score the pinfall.
5. Aces & Eights were a tad late with their run in as Knux tapped out to "Olympic Gold Medalist" Kurt Angle's Ankle Lock submission at 7:45. Someone had apparently slid some heavy TV production equipment in front of the Aces & Eights' Clubhouse door to hamper their ability to interfere in the match. Mr. Anderson, Wes Brisco and Garett Bischoff finally got through the barricade and put a triple-team beatdown on Angle in the ring until Main Event Mafia members Samoa Joe and Sting made the save. After the bout, a fuming President Bully Ray wanted inquiries made as to who messed with the Aces & Eights. Programming Director Frank Coutinho could be seen snickering in the background.
6. Table, Ladders & Chairs Match for the TNA TV Title. Challenger Austin Aries emerged victorious over the defending Champ Rob Van Dam to win the TV Title at 9:10. Both men took their lumps in this dangerous match with chair shots and nasty falls off the ladder. The end came when RVD was Drop Kicked in the mush through a table that had been leaning in one of the corners. Aries was then able to climb the ladder and retrieve the TV Belt which hung suspended from the rafters above the ring. Austin Aries is the Neeeeewwwwwww TNA Television Champion !!

1. Rockstar Spud thought he had things in hand against Joey Ryan when he leapt off the top rope with a Double Axe Handle but was met by a Superkick to the chops as he landed on the canvas. Ryan draped across his opponent in an arrogant cover as Referee Earl Hebner counted the pin at 4:31.
2. Knockouts Match with Guest Referee O.D.B. Ref-turned-wrestler Taryn Terrell was giving Gail Kim a run for her money when Eric Young wandered down to ringside. Thinking that he was there to watch Taryn and not herself, the jealous and suspicious O.D.B. scolded her hubby and tried to send him to the back. Terrell was distracted by the marital spat and walked right into Gail's Eat Defeat (Inverted Stomp Jawbreaker) for the pinfall at 5:19.
3. Aces & Eights (Wes Brisco & Garett Bischoff) over The Naturals (Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens) at 8:03. Credit Mr. Anderson for this win as he snuck into the ring and delivered the Mic Check (Leg Hook Reverse STO) onto an unsuspecting Andy Douglas behind the ref's back as Jamie Tucker was attempting to restore order. Bischoff made the cover and Tucker counted the 1-2-3.
4. X Division Triple Threat Match. Manik vs. Kid Kash vs. Kenny King. Fast paced, high impact action with several near pinfalls that was ultimately decided when Kash was trying to set himself on the top rope to deliver a Moonsault onto the fallen Manik but was plucked off onto Kenny King's shoulders and given the Royal Flush (Fireman's Carry Spun Side Slam) for the pin at 7:37. Your winner: Kenny King
5. "SuperMex" Hernandez and DOC of Aces & Eights were both counted out by Earl Hebner at 7:10. The ring could not contain these two brutes as they took their battle back up the ramp and into the back. Knux, Brisco, Anderson and Bischoff all spilled out of the Aces & Eights clubhouse to pounce on Hernandez. Kurt Angle, TNA Champion Sting and Samoa Joe of The Main Event Mafia joined the fray to chase off the heels.
6. "The Phenomenal Brooding Lone Wolf" A.J. Styles defeated "Cowboy" James Storm at 14:47. Styles managed to grab Storm's foot on the Cowboy's Last Call Superkick attempt and reverse it into the Styles Clash (Belly to Back Inverted Facebuster) for the hard fought victory.

1. Eric Young (w/ O.D.B.) over Frankie Kazarian (w/ Christopher Daniels) at 5:10. Kaz was being especially derogatory toward Mrs. Young at ringside and said that she dressed like an auto mechanic. Eric Young was able to roll up Kaz from behind for the pinfall when O.D.B. took a swig from her flask and spat its contents into Kazarian's face.
2. "Canadien Destroyer" Petey Williams defeated Chris Sabin in an X Division match with some unexpected and unwanted help from Austin Aries. With Williams and Referee Brian Stiffler both knocked down by an errant collision in the ring, Sabin scaled the top rope for a high risk maneuver only to be pushed off by Aries after "A Double" had wandered down to ringside. Sabin landed awkwardly on the mat and Williams crawled over to cover him. Brian Stiffler recovered to make the three count at 7:06.
3. TNA Knockouts Championship Match. Champion Madison Rayne (w/ BFF Gail Kim) defended the gold against rival Mickie James. Director of the Knockouts' Division Brooke Hogan appointed herself to be Guest Referee for this title bout and promptly banished Gail Kim back to the dressing room before the bell even rang to start the match. Mickie dominated the action and seemed to have a counter for anything that Madison could muster. At one point the frustrated champ grabbed her belt and with the intention of walking out on the match however Mickie gave chase and threw Madison back inside the ring. As Mickie was re-entering through the ropes, the champ caught her with a quick boot to the midesection followed by a bridging Back Suplex. Brooke Hogan made the three count but there was confusion as to whose shoulders were down on the mat. All questions were answered when Mickie's arm was raised in victory. The time of the fall was 7:14. Mickie James is the Neeeewwwwww Knockouts' Champion !
4. "The It Factor" Bobby Roode took care of business at the expense of his opponent Gunner. Roode wore down Gunner with a punishing Arm Trap Crossface and then finished him off with The Payoff (Bridging Cradle Suplex) at 6:49.
5. In a highly competitive match, "The Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy was one step better than Chavo Guerrero. Hardy was not able to land the Swanton Bomb off the top rope, however he did catch Chavo with the Twist of Fate stunner to score the pinfall at 8:05. Both men shook hands and left the ring together after Chavo had shaken out the cobwebs.
6. In the Main Event, Ace & Eights (Bully Ray, Devon & Mr. Anderson) defeated the trio of TNA World Champion Sting, "Olympic Gold Medalist" Kurt Angle & Joseph Parks, Esq. at 11:36 in a six man tag team match. Parks tried his best, but the big lug went down for the three count after receiving a loaded punch from Bully Ray who had his wallet chain wrapped around his fist.

1. Tara (w/ "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jesse Godderz) defeated Brooke Tessmacher at 5:23. Tessmacher scooped Tara up and was poised to deliver the Tess-Shocker (Facebuster) when Mr. Pec-Tacular reached into the ring and pulled her foot out from under her. Tara fell on top of Brooke for the three count as Jesse held the foot down for insurance.
2. Garett Bischoff of Aces & Eights beat Gunner at 6:40 with an assist from Wes Brisco. Brisco slipped a Biker Chain to Bischoff when Referee Bruce Gray was toppled over in the action. Bischoff delivered a loaded punch to Gunner's jaw to score the pinfall as Gray recovered to count the pin.
3. "The Monster" Abyss (w/ Father James Mitchell) demolished Christian York at 3:18. York has pulled off some surprising wins during his time in TNA but he was thoroughly overmatched tonight in this one-sided contest. York went down for the three count with the Black Hole Slam (Spinning Side Slam).
4. Rob Terry & Rockstar Spud over The 'Bros (Robbie E & "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jesse Godderz) at 6:22. Brooke Tessmacher ran down to ringside and returned the favor to Godderz by pulling his foot out as he attempted to suplex Rockstar Spud back into the ring from the apron. Spud fell on top of Mr. Pec-Tacular for the pinfall.
5. "The Phenomenally Brooding" A.J. Styles was too much for "Blueprint" Matt Morgan to handle. Styles was able to sommersault under Morgan's Carbon Footprint (Running Big Boot) attempt and counter with a Pele/Back Flip Kick to the head. The Phenomenal one then added a Springboard 450 Splash onto the dazed Morgan for the three count. The fans, who don't quite know what to make of Mr. Styles these days, gave a nice hometown ovation to A.J. after his win.
6. TNA Title Match. In an unusual ending, the defending Champion Sting was disqualified at 9:19 when Aces & Eights ran in and attacked the challenger Bobby Roode. Aces & Eights President Bully Ray made good on his vow that no one would get a chance to take the title from Sting until he himself was first given the opportunity. After the bell, Bully said that what happened here tonight to Roode will happen to every wrestler who gets a title shot at Sting before him.

Shinja wanted to make an impression in Hakushi's debut by jumping into the ring and joining his man in a martial arts beatdown of a defenseless Bob Cook. Man Mountain Rock finally ran in to make the save and cleared the ring of both Hakushi & Shinja by swinging his ax (guitar).
2. Rad Radford defeated Man Mountain Rock via Count Out at 6:54. Hakushi returned to ringside and got into a confrontation with Man Mountain Rock OOR. Rock lost track of Referee Earl Hebner's count during the ruckus.
3. 1-2-3 Kid beat Bodydonna Skip (w/ Sunny) at 6:50. The crafty Kid reversed a Skip Powerbomb attempt into a Victory Roll for the pinfall.
Heartbreak Hotel Segment hosted by "HBK" Shawn Michaels with Special Guest Psycho Sid
Conspicuously absent, Michael's bodyguard "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel. Michaels, chewing gum while he spoke, explained that Diesel was "on leave" from his services. HBK then built up the monster Psycho Sid. Michaels claimed that Sid was bigger, stronger and meaner than Diesel ever was and would, perhaps, make a better bodyguard for HBK. Sid said that he would consider it, but the wild look in his eye suggested that he could not be trusted. Michael's offered a handshake to seal the deal but Sid declined the gesture and walked off the set. Michaels shrugged, dropped the microphone, and walked off in the opposite direction.
4. Savio Vega over "Supreme Fighting Machine" Kama (w/ "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase) at 13:01. Dibiase tried to slug Vega with his Million Dollar Belt but inadvertently KO'd Kama with it instead leading to the pinfall.
5. The Quebecers (Jacques & Pierre w/ Johnny Polo) defeated the Smokin' Gunns (Bart & Billy Gunn) at 11:53. Fed up with his constant interference, Billy Gunn lost his cool and chased Johnny Polo from ringside. Billy could not make it back in time to make Referee Mike Chioda's ten count.
6. Psycho Sid defeated the "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith with a mighty Chokeslam at 19:33. Shawn Michaels joined the announcer's table to do guest commentary for the match and gave Sid a standing ovation after the bout. Sid did not acknowledge HBK's accolades.
7. In the Main Event, Bret "The Hitman" Hart defeated his brother "King of Harts" Owen Hart (w/ Yokozuna) by submission with the Sharpshooter at 22:47.

3. The Young Stallions (Paul Roma & Jim Powers) defeated "#1 Frenchman" Rene Goulet and Frenchy Martin at 13:58. Powers caught Goulet with a Powerslam off the ropes for the pin. Frenchy tried to break up the pin but was tripped by Koko B. Ware who was being interviewed by "Mean" Gene Okerlund OOR.
4. "The Birdman" Koko B. Ware (w/ bird Franky) over "Canada's Greatest Athlete" Iron Mike Sharpe via DQ at 8:48. Koko had Sharpe beat with the Ghostbuster (Brainbuster), but Frenchy Martin ran into the ring and broke up the pin for the disqualification. Frenchy then tried to steal Franky from ringside but Koko made the save with a Drop Kick to the mush.
5. The U.S. Express (Mike Rotundo & Barry Windham) defeated the Moondogs (Rex & Spot) at 10:15. Windham with the Bulldog on Rex for the pin as Rotundo held an interferring Spot at bay in an Airplane Spin.
6. Nikolai Volkoff (w/ Classy Freddie Blassie) over Pedro Morales at 13:10. Volkoff pinned Morales after the momentum of a Flying Cross Body Press put Volkoff on top.
7. Intercontinental Championship Qualifying Match. In a hard fought battle, "Macho Man" Randy Savage (w/ Miss Elizabeth) defeated Tito Santana with the Diving Elbow Drop off the top rope at 20:49.

3. The Bodydonnas (Skip & Zip w/ Sunny) beat the Godwinns (Henry & Phinneas w/ Hillbilly Jim) by Count Out at 12:38. With Henry Godwinn battling Zip OOR, Sunny grabbed onto Henry's leg and wouldn't let go, thereby preventing him from getting back inside the ring in time to make Referee Tim White's ten count.
4. Doink the Clown beat Marty Jannetty via Count Out at 9:45. Fed up with Doink's annoying pranks OOR, Marty took a run at the clown only to be blinded by a pail full of confetti. Jannetty crashed head-first into the steel barricade railing for the Count Out. Doink rolled around on the canvas laughing hysterically and pointing at the KO'd Jannetty.
5. "King of Harts" Owen Hart & Yokozuna (w/ "Samurai Warrior" Mr. Fuji) defeated the 1-2-3 Kid and Bob "Spark Plugg" Holly at 10:05. Owen pinned Holly with a handful of tights and smugly pranced around the ring.
6. "Native American" Tatanka over Bam Bam Bigelow via DQ at 14:09. Bam Bam had several chances to put Tatanka away, but the Native American managed to kick out each time. The frustrated Bigelow bashed Tatanka over the head with a folding chair right in front of Referee Tim White for this disqualification.
7. In the Main Event, Razor Ramon pinned "HBK" Shawn Michaels at 14:55 after bodyguard Diesel's interference backfired. Diesel reached into the ring to trip Razor but inadvertently (?) tripped HBK instead leading to the pinfall. After the bout, Michaels and Diesel had words in the ring. Diesel pushed HBK down to the mat as the crowd roared in approval. Michaels got up, dusted himself off, and laid his bodyguard with the Sweet Chin Music superkick before exiting the ring.

2. Outback Jack over "Macho" Goldie Rogers via Count Out. Jack sent Rogers over the barricade railing and into the crowd with a Boomerang (Clothesline from behind) in OOR Action. Rogers could not get back into the ring in time to make Referee Nick Kozak's ten count.
3. "The Natural" Butch Reed (w/ "The Doctor of Style" Slick) over "Young Stallion" Jim Powers (w/ "Young Stallion" Paul Roma) at 7:29. Dissension !! Roma turned on his tag team partner Powers in this match. Roma climbed up on the apron and got into a heated argument with Powers. The confrontation was just what Butch Reed needed to blindside Powers with a Diving Clothesline off the 2nd rope for the pinfall. After the bout, a camera picked up Slick sneaking Roma a wad of cash.
4. The Big Bossman pinned "Canada's Greatest Athlete" Iron Mike Sharpe with the Hardtime Slam (Spinning Side Slam off the ropes) at 6:42. After the bout, the Bossman handcuffed Iron Mike to the top rope.
5. The Super Powers (Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff) over the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Jacques & Raymond) at 12:54. Iron Sheik with the Loaded Boot Toe Smash to Jacques for the winning pin. Jacques had to be helped backstage by his brother Raymond.
6. Intercontinental Championship Qualifying Match. "The Model" Rick Martel over Jake "The Snake" Roberts via Count Out at 12:34. In OOR action, the Model blinded Roberts with his "Arrogance" cologne spray causing Jake to stumble over a souvenir table of WWF T-Shirts. Jake could not make it back inside the ring in time to make Referee John Benello's ten count.
7. In the Main Event, Hulk Hogan defeated Earthquake (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) at 11:18. The Hulkster with a Big Boot off the ropes followed by the Leg Drop of Doom on big Earthquake. After the bout, Heenan threw his hands up in the air in disgust as the Hulkster began posing for the cheering Hartford fans.

Watts deflects the questions with "No Comment" and "It's a legal matter". He instead focuses on the UWF 4th of July Holiday Spectacular "Superbrawl in the Superdome". Watts runs through the list of matchups and adds a stipulation to the Terry Taylor - Eddie Gilbert "Loser Leaves Town" Match - both Missy Hyatt and Sunshine have been banned from ringside. Watts also adds that Missy Hyatt and her father J. Buckley Hyatt will be hearing from his attorney. (Missy slugged Watts last week with the "Lady in Waiting" and apparently broke his wrist. Watts' wrist is now in a cast.)
1. "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer (w/ Brett Sawyer) pinned "Raging Greek" Mike Pappas at 6:20. Buzz hit the pesky veteran Pappas with a Low Blow while brother Brett distracted Referee Jerry Usher.
2. The Angel of Death (w/ Sunshine) over Perry Jackson with the Death Wish (Diving Clothesline off the 2nd Rope) at 3:33.
3. The Lightning Express (Brad Armstrong & "White Lightning" Tim Hoerner) and the Rock 'N Roll RPMs (Tommy Lane & crazy Mike Davis w/ Downtown Bruno) were both DQ'd by Referee Alfred Neely in a wild brawl OOR at 9:48.
4. "Bullet" Bob Armstrong defeated Eli the Eliminator (w/ General Skandor Akbar) at 11:20. Armstrong cradled Eli while he was conferring with General Akbar.
Boyd Pierce Interview segment with the 1st Couple of Professional Wrestling, Missy Hyatt & "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert
Missy Hyatt's wrist is in a cast that is identical to "Cowboy" Bill Watts'. She claims to have sprained it swinging "The Lady in Waiting" at Watts and will be unable to compete against Sunshine in "Superbrawl at the Superdome". Gilbert is supporting her "injured" wrist on a pillow. Gilbert tells Terry Taylor to pack his bags. He says that's he's already purchased an airline ticket for Taylor to leave town immediately after their match. He says, "So long, Terry, it's been good to know ya !"
5. Savannah Jack over "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert (w/ Missy Hyatt) via Count Out at 10:24. In OOR action, Gilbert tried to pull a roll of coins out of the pillow case that Missy Hyatt was using to support her "injured" wrist, but it was intercepted by Savannah Jack. Jack then KO'd Gilbert with a loaded punch OOR for the count out victory.
6. The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael P.S. Hayes & Buddy Jack Roberts w/ Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy) defeated the Jersey Boys (Angelo Mosca Jr. & "Jumping" Joe Savoldi) at 11:40. Hayes & Roberts combined for a Double Bulldog on Mosca while Gordy distracted Referee Jerry Usher. After the bout, Austin Idol ran down to ringside and laid out Gordy with a chair shot. Idol managed to escape through the crowd before the Freebirds could get their hands on him. (Gordy and Idol will be meeting in a Texas Death Match at Superbrawl.)
7. In the Main Event, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams pinned "Ugandan Giant" Kamala (w/ General Skandor Akbar & handler Friday) at 14:15. Akbar tried to smash Williams over the head with a folding chair while Kamala held Dr. Death from behind, but Williams moved at the last second and Akbar laid out his Ugandan Giant by mistake for the pinfall.

Missy's wrist is still in a cast (from slugging Watts with the "Lady in Waiting" ). Eddie is supporting her wrist on a fluffy pillow. Missy says tearfully that she will not be able to wrestle Sunshine at Superbrawl as a result of her injury. She hands Watts a note from her doctor excusing her from any strenuous activity. Watts gives her a mean look. (His wrist is also in a cast from being hit with the "Lady in Waiting" ). Watts snatches the note from Hyatt and examines it. "This isn't high school gym class, young lady !!" he snarls. Watts rips up the doctor's note and says the match is still on. Gilbert and Hyatt have a fit as the fans go wild !! The segment ends with both Hyatt and Watts threatening to sue each other.
1. Jack Victory (w/ Missy Hyatt & her pillow-bearer Eddie Gilbert) beat Ken Massey by DQ at 2:37. Victory brought a chair into the ring but Ken Massey yanked it out of his hands before he could use it. Unfortunately for Massey, Referee Joel Armstrong caught him holding the chair in the ring and signaled for the disqualification.
2. Porkchop Cash (w/ Sunshine) pinned "Mr. Superb" Steve Doll with a Backslide at 3:28.
3. Shane Douglas over "Time Keeper" Mike George at 6:56. George was reaching for his clock in the corner when he was suddenly spun around by Douglas and given a surprise Belly to Belly Suplex for the pin. (Prior to the bout, George had predicted that he would beat the youngster Douglas in 5 minutes.)
4. Rick Steiner (w/ Missy Hyatt & her pillow-bearer Eddie Gilbert) pinned Sam Houston after a Low Blow by Missy from behind with her "injured" hand at 10:14.
5. The Jive Tones (Shaska Whatley & Tiger Conway Jr.) defeated the S.S.T. (Fatu & Samu w/ General Skandor Akbar) at 11:27. Akbar tried to bash Shaska from behind with Ring Announcer Joe Rinelli's microphone but accidently hit Fatu with it instead leading to the winning pinfall.
6. Terry Taylor (w/ Sunshine) defeated the Missing Link (w/ Dark Journey) at 12:46. Taylor caught the Link with his patented Flying Five Arm off the ropes for the pin. After the bout, both Taylor and Sunshine predicted victory for themselves in their respective matches against Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt at Superbrawl during a ringside interview with Jim Ross.
7. In the Main Event, "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol beat Bad Leroy Brown (w/ General Skandor Akbar) at 10:31. Akbar slipped Leroy Brown some Brass Knucks but Idol was able to pry them out of his hand and KO Brown with his own weapon for the winning pin.

1. Steel Cage Tag Team Grudge Match. The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael P.S. Hayes & Buddy Jack Roberts) defeated The Armstrongs ("Bullet" Bob & son Brad) at 5:33. Bob Armstrong battled side by side with Michael Hayes all the way up one side of the cage. A stiff uppercut from "Bullet" Bob sent Hayes over the top of the cage and crashing down onto the announcer's table below. The Freebirds won the match but Hayes had to be helped backstage after his violent fall.
2. UWF TV Title Match. Champion "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel (w/ Missy Hyatt) turned back the Challenger "Gentleman" Chris Adams (w/ Sunshine) at 7:33. Landel managed to clamp on the Figure Four Leglock right in the middle of the ring. Adams refused to submit but passed out from the pain of the hold. Referee Edward Faulk counted Adams shoulders down on the mat for the pin. Landel retains the TV Title.
3. "Cowboy" Bill Watts Special Bonus Match. Missy Hyatt defeated Sunshine at 8:22. Missy Hyatt did a lot of stalling and hiding behind Referee Ronnie West in this match. Missy finally fled the ring and bolted for the dressing room only to be caught by Sunshine and dragged back to ringside by her hair. As Missy's arms flailed about, her wrist cast caught Sunshine flush on the jaw and knocked her out cold. Missy quickly rolled Sunshine back into the ring and made the pin.
4. UWF Tag Team Title Match. The Challengers, Ted Dibiase & "Dr. Death" Steve Williams defeated the Champion Kiwi Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Cousin Luke Williams w/ Lord Jonathan Boyd) at 8:26. With Lord Jonathan Boyd up on the apron causing havoc, Dr. Death sent Sheepherder Butch Miller crashing into him. The collision knocked Boyd to the floor and stunned Miller. "Dr. Death" then scooped up the dazed Sheepherder and delivered the Oklahoma Stampede (Running Powerslam) for the pinfall. Ted Dibiase & "Dr. Death" Steve Williams are the newwwwwwwww UWF Tag Team Champions !
5. Texas Death Match. "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol over Fabulous Freebird Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy at 14:32. Wearing street clothes and armed with weapons of their choice, both men bloodied and battered one another in this savage battle. Gordy, in particular, removed one of his cowboy boots and pummeled Austin Idol unmercifully. In the end, Idol took Gordy's boot away from him and gave the Freebird a wicked Low Blow with it. Gordy staggered but could not get back to his feet by Referee Tony Torres' ten count.
6. UWF Title Match. The Champion One Man Gang (w/ General Skandor Akbar) defeated the Challenger Lord Humongous (w/ Downtown Bruno) via Count Out at 12:02. The Gang body slammed Humongous on the floor and followed that up with the devastating 747 Splash. Clutching his ribs and gasping for breath, Lord Humongous tried but could not get back in the ring to make Referee Edward Faulk's ten count. One Man Gang retains the UWF Title.
7. Loser Leaves Town Match. "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert over Terry Taylor at 22:32. A desperate Eddie Gilbert pulled out all the stops, resorting to any means possible to win this match. Gilbert took full advantage of UWF Owner Bill Watts' "No DQ" stipulations and used various foreign objects throughout the bout. In the end, it was a fireball to the face that did in Terry Taylor. The blinded Taylor, clutching at he eyes, staggered around the ring and walked right into Gilbert's Hot Shot finisher for the final pinfall. Taylor must now leave the UWF.

Jim Ross & Magnum T.A. recap the UWF "Super Brawl in the Super Dome" Spectacular. They congratulate the new UWF Tag Team Champions Ted Dibiase & Steve "Dr. Death" Williams who unseated the Kiwi Sheepherders with Williams' Oklahoma Slam on Butch Miller. They also talk about Michael P.S. Hayes injury sustained in the steel cage tag match between the Freebirds and the Armstrongs. We see footage of Hayes falling out of the cage and crashing through the announcers' table and having to be helped backstage. They say Hayes will be out of action for a while as a result. Ross & Magnum then turn their attention to the "Loser Leaves Town" Main Event between Eddie Gilbert and Terry Taylor. They are joined by "The First Couple of Professional Wrestling" Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt who look as though they have just come from a funeral. Gilbert comes out in a black suit and sunglasses. Missy is wearing a black dress, hat and veil. She is dabbing at her eyes with a handkerchief. Jim Ross rolls his eyes at their mock grief.
Hyatt: "Isn't it just terrible that Terry Taylor had to leave the UWF, Jim Ross ? I'm just beside myself in sorrow. I haven't been able to eat a morsel or sleep a wink since Super Brawl."
Ross: "Well, I'm sorry to hear that, Missy. I do notice, however, that you're no longer wearing that cast on your hand anymore. It seems as though your wrist has magically healed since getting through your match with Sunshine at Super Brawl ?"
Hyatt: "I tell you it's a miracle, Jim Ross."
(Missy dabs at her eyes again with the handerkerchief.)
Ross: "Miracle my foot. Alright, Eddie Gilbert, what do you have to say for yourself ? You pulled out every dirty trick in the book to defeat Terry Taylor in your "Loser Leaves Town" Match."
(Gilbert tries to speak but quickly turns away. He tries again but can't find the words and waves off Jim Ross. He is too choked up. Missy consoles him.)
Ross: "Do you think you can compose yourself to give us a comment, Eddie ?"
(Gilbert tries one final time but quickly breaks down. Missy helps him off the set.)
Ross: "Well, there you have it, Ladies and Gentlemen. Eddie Gilbert is too overcome with grief at the departure of his adversary Terry Taylor to speak to us this week. I've had about all I can take from these two. Let's get on up to the ring for the introductions to our first match."
1. "The Missouri Tiger" Jeff Gaylord pinned "Broadway" Joe Malcolm with a Flying Cross Body Press at 2:49.
2. Steve "Do It To It" Cox beat Brett Sawyer (w/ brother "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer) by Count Out at 5:21. In OOR action, Cox had to fight off both Sawyer brothers and gave Brett a Russian Leg Sweep into the barricade railing leading to the Count Out.
3. Sam Houston defeated Jack Victory (w/ Missy Hyatt) with his Bulldog finisher at 6:48.
4. The Russian Bears (Vladimir Petrov & Kortsia Korchenko w/ Downtown Bruno) over the Jersey Boys (Angelo Mosca Jr. & "Jumping" Joe Savoldi) by Count Out at 7:14. Savoldi got into a heated confrontation with Downtown Bruno OOR and completely lost track of Referee Tommy Gilbert's ten count.
5. Savannah Jack defeated "Unpredictable" Dick Slater (w/ Dark Journey) in controversial fashion at 9:51. Jack connected with his patented Superkick however Slater was able to get a foot on the bottom rope during the pin count. Unfortunately for Slater, Referee Carl Fergie did not see the foot and counted the pin anyway. After the bout, the bitter Slater clocked Fergie from behind and threw him out of the ring.
6. In the Main Event, "Dirty" Dick Murdoch (w/ General Skandor Akbar) beat "Bruiser" Bob Sweetan at 13:23. Akbar reached into the ring and pulled Sweetan's foot out from under him as he was lifting Murdoch up for his Piledriver finisher. Murdoch fell on top of Sweetan for the pin. After the bout, Akbar and Murdoch immediately fled the ring with Sweetan in hot pursuit.

1. Hailing from the Isle of Malta, Baron Scicluna defeated Manuel Soto in tonight's opening bout by dubious means. Feigning an injury in the corner, the Baron dipped down into the tights for a foreign object and KO'd Soto with a Loaded Punch for the pinfall at 5:22.
2. The tandem of Leilani Kai & the Fabulous Moolah defeated the team of Joyce Grable & Susan Starr at 6:16. The devious Moolah snuck into the ring and reversed Starr's Small Package cradle on Leilani Kai while Referee Dick Woehrle's back was turned. Woehrle turned around to find Leilani on top and counted the pin.
3. Frank "Moose" Monroe and Gypsy Rodriguez probably wished that they had a couple of more partners in the ring with them when they took on "The Eighth Wonder of the World" Andre the Giant in this special Handicap Match. Andre manhandled them both with ease and ended things by Body Slamming Gypsy on top of his partner and then taking a seat on the pile for the three count at 4:36.
4. One half of the WWWF Tag Team Champions, "Handsome" Jimmy Valiant (w/ Brother "Luscious" Johnny & Captain Louis Albano) defeated the out numbered Dominic Denucci at 8:05. Denucci had his foot pulled out from under him by Johnny as he was lifting his opponent up for a Body Slam. Handsome Jimmy landed on top of Denucci for the pin.
5. "Hollywood Fashion Plate" Classy Freddie Blassie's team from the Orient, Mr. Fuji and Professor Toru Tanaka, beat Tony Garea and barefoot "Country Boy" Haystacks Calhoun at 7:52. Garea was blinded by a handful of salt courtesy of Professor Tanaka and then decked by a Kamikaze Clothesline from Fuji for the three count.
6. In the Main Event, WWWF World Champion Bruno Sammartino defeated "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff (w/ Captain Louis Albano) in this championship match. A high risk leap from the top rope ended in disaster for the challenger when Bruno managed to lift a foot at the last second. Koloff was stunned by the unexpected boot to the jaw and cradled for the pin at 24:27. Bruno Sammartino retains the WWWF Title !

1. "Matman" Robbie Ellis (w/ Yellow Fisherman's Cap & Slicker) over Johnny Defazio at 5:50. Ellis, who insisted that Ring Announcer Frank Coutinho introduce him as "The Pride of Portland", surprised his opponent with a running sommersault splash across the prone DeFazio's chest for the three count. The "Matman" referred to the maneuver as "The Lobster Roll" in a post-match interview with Vince McMahon.
2. The team of Dino Bravo & Dominic Denucci got the better of "Pretty Boy" Larry Sharpe & "Dynamite" Jack Evans in this hard fought tag contest. Evans and Sharpe attempted to unsuccessfully whip their opponents into one another from opposite corners of the ring, but a little fancy do-si-do footwork turned the tables on the heels. Bravo collected Sharpe and Evans together for a noggin knocker and then tagged in Denucci who put away the woozy "Dynamite" Jack with an Airplane Spin for the three count. After the bell, the heels insisted that Sharpe was the legal man for their team at the time of the pinfall but their protests were largely ignored by Referee Gilberto Roman. Seeing that he was getting nowhere with the official, Evans next took his beef to Frank Coutinho who would hear none of it. Evans made the mistake of giving Frank a little shove and was promptly decked by a solid Forearm Smash to the chest from the Ring Announcer much to the delight of the fans.
3. "Handsome" Jimmy Valiant took advantage of his manager's interference to steal a pin on "High Chief" Peter Maivia at 8:37. The annoying Captain Louis Albano, who Vince McMahon referred to as a "Fat Slob" during his commentary, spent much of this match pacing around ringside in his open Hawaiian shirt blowing on a whistle. Captain Lou caught a leaping Head Butt from Maivia while up on the apron and went down like a ton of bricks, however the distraction was just what Valiant needed to cradle the "High Chief" from behind with a handful of tights for the three count.
(It should be noted that the reigning WWWF Tag Team Champion Valiant Brothers were originally slated to defend their titles against Maivia and his partner Chief Jay Strongbow tonight in Long Island, but the shrewd Albano refused to have his men sign the contracts. Promotor Phil Zacko then changed the tag bout to a pair of singles matches instead. Strongbow will face "Luscious" Johnny Valiant later on in the card.)
4. Heart Punch specialist Stan "The Man" Stasiak (w/ The Grand Wizard of Wrestling) connected with his taped fist to pin "Irish" Pat Barrett at 8:14. Barrett had done a good job of avoiding the dreaded finisher by blocking Stasiak's attempts on two separate occasions, but he was stunned by a raised knee from his opponent on a ill-fated corner charge. Stasiak immediately struck with the Heart Punch while "Irish" Pat was trying to shake out the cobwebs.
5. "Chief" Jay Strongbow defeated "Luscious" Johhny Valiant at 9:22. Captain Lou traded in his whistle for a cigar as he returned to ringside puffing away on the stogie and causing his usual havoc. Over the course of the match, Albano made several unsuccessful attempts to slip a foreign object into the ring to Johnny but to no avail. In the meantime, the Chief had enough of Johnny's dirty tactics and went on the warpath with a series of tomahawks chops and running knee lifts. Sensing trouble, Captain Lou took matters into his own hands and tried to hit Strongbow with the foreign object but ended up decking "Luscious" Johnny with it instead leading to the pinfall.
6. Big, "Rawbone" Swede Hansen from Slaughter Creek, NC (w/ "Hollywood Fashion Plate" Classy Freddie Blassie) came to the ring with a game plan to weaken his opponent's back and immediately put the strategy into effect against Pedro Morales. Time and time again, Hansen would clamp on a prolonged Bear Hug despite the chants of "Boring!" that filtered through the antsy crowd. Morales was finally able to escape the hold for once and for all with a loud ear clap but was then tossed out of the ring by Big Swede. Morales returned to the apron with a shoulder butt to Hansen's midsection and slingshotted himself back into the ring with a Sunset Flip on his doubled-over opponent. Swede desperately grabbed the top rope to maintain his balance but Referee Tony Altimore kicked his arm enabling Morales to get him over for the three count at 11:40.
