World Class Results (Circa Mid 80's) - The Sportatorium, Dallas, TX. Att: 2,829.

Announcers: Bill Mercer & Stella Mae French
Ring Announcer: Marc Lowrance
Referees: Rick Hazzard, Ralph Pulley & James Beard

1. Frankie “The Thumper” Lancaster opened the show with a win over “Golden Boy” Chick Donovan at 3:56. Donovan was in control of this bout until Rock & Roll RPM “Maniac” Mike Davis came down to ringside to stir up some trouble. It didn’t take long for Davis to catch Chick’s attention. The two got into a heated argument enabling Lancaster to catch his preocuupied opponent with a Low Blow to score the pinfall.

2. ”Killer” Tim Brooks topped Jerry Allen at 6:17. Allen, who is a relative newcomer to World Class, tried to endear himself to the fans by cutting a spirited interview with Bill Mercer prior to the contest. The promo may have given him some bonus points to work with, but he still came up short in the end. Brooks used a chain smash to stun Allen before finishing him off with a Flying Leg Drop from the 2nd rope.

3. The Missing Link over Spike Huber at 8:53. Both competitors scored points on their respective modifiers (Spike rolled on his Technical Skills while the Link countered with Cheating). Huber took the battle to his adversary, however he was ripe for the pickings after he ran full steam into a raised knee on a delayed corner charge. The Missing Link then leapt off the top rope with a devastating Head Butt to put Spike’s shoulders to the mat for the 1-2-3.

4. The Dingo Warrior defeated “Crippler” Rip Oliver by disqualification at 8:24. The normally popular Dingo struggled to gain any fan support whatsoever at the Sportatorium this evening. The cold reception cost him points, but Oliver failed to capitalize thanks in large part to the Warrior’s size and power. Looking to turn the tide in his favor, the Crippler took the battle to the floor where he hoped to have the advantage. Oliver did indeed inflict a great deal of punishment OOR, but went too far when he ran the Dingo head-first into the ring post. Referee Rick Hazzard saw the infraction and wasted no time in calling for the bell.

5. “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer (w/ Percy Pringle III) beat “Cowboy” Scott Casey via Count Out at 9:31. Sawyer’s sneak attack attempt during Marc Lowrance’s match introduction was short circuited when the alert Cowboy ducked at the last instant sending Buzz sailing through the ropes and crashing hard to the floor below. Things didn’t get much better for Sawyer once the bell rang to officially start the contest. Percy Pringle earned his keep by interferring often on his man’s behalf, but also drew the wrath of Casey in the process. The Cowboy bailed from the ring to give the annoying manager his comeuppance and delighted the crowd by decking Pringle with a haymaker after chasing him down around ringside. Unfortunately for Casey, Referee Ralph Pulley’s ten count expired before he could get himself back inside the ring.

6. Nicola Roberts’ Dynamic Duo of “Gentleman” Chris Adams & “The Handsome Half Breed from Highland Park” Gino Hernandez beat the Cosmic Cowboys (Texas Heavyweight Champion Kerry Von Erich and Kevin Von Erich) in tonight’s tag team Main Event at 11:34. As always, the Von Erich brothers were showered with hugs and kisses from their adoring female fans during their ring entrance. Hernandez, who has proven himself to be a serious contender for Kerry’s title, played some mind games with the champ by motioning for the Texas Title to be awarded to him. Referee James Beard drew the unenviable task of trying to maintain order in this one. To make matters worse for the official, Nicola’s arch nemesis Sunshine came down to ringside to be in the Cosmic Cowboys’ corner. The match inevitably degenerated into a four man free-for-all in the ring while the valets battled in a wild cat fight on the floor. Amidst the chaos, sleezy Jake “The Snake” Roberts slithered into the ring and laid out Kerry with a vicious DDT. Hernandez quickly pounced on the dazed Von Erich with the frazzled James Beard then counting the pin. After the bell, Gino strapped the Texas Championship Belt around his waist and returned to the back with both arms raised triumphantly.

Georgia Championship Wrestling Results (Circa Early 80's) – WTBS Studios, Atlanta, GA.

Commentator: Gordon Solie
Ring Announcer: Freddie Miller
Referee: Jimmy McGuire

1. Steve O (Olsonoski) defeated Tom Yancy at 5:34. Olsonoski made good use of his Speed Modifier during his GCW debut and wrestled circles around the beleaugured Yancy. A brief flurry of punches slowed Steve's momentum somewhat, but Yancy's follow up Back Body Drop attempt was countered into a Sunset Flip for the winning pinfall. Olsonoski was being interviewed by Gordon Solie immediately after the bout when Big Jim Duggan startled both men by suddenly emerging from backstage with a trash can in hand. A quick Crescent Kick from Steve O nixed the ambush with Duggan then being run off after a flurry of punches.

2. The Fabulous Freebirds (Buddy Roberts & Terry Gordy) over the tandem of Keith Larson & Rick Benefield at 4:39. The 'Birds used this match as a tune up for the upcoming National Tag Team Tournament. Larson wrestled the yeoman's share of the bout for his team and endured a great deal of punishment along the way. Roberts and Gordy, on the other hand, showed good chemistry by tagging in and out and frequently combining for several double team maneuvers. Larson was finally able to reach his corner for a much needed tag, but his partner fared no better. Benefield was greeted by a high Belly to Back Suplex from Gordy and then finished off with a Bulldog from Buddy Roberts moments later.

We returned from a commercial break with the Fabulous Freebirds joining Gordon Solie at the announcers' desk. Michael Hayes quickly took over the interview with his usual bravado and reminded the fans that Georgia Championship Wrestling revolved around the Freebirds and not Tommy Rich, the Armstrongs, Mr. Wrestling II or anyone else for that matter. Hayes went on to say that they were a cinch to win the Tournament at the Omni and insisted that Gordon congratulate them right now. "That has yet to be determined, Mr. Hayes," Gordon replied before sending us back up to the ring for Freddie Miller's introductions to our next match.

3. Tommy "Wildfire" Rich beat Ed Timbs at 3:04 despite the distracting presence of the Masked Superstar at ringside. The Superstar, who has an upcoming National Championship Tournament match with Rich at the Omni, was no doubt looking to play some mind games with Wildfire by pulling up a chair and watching the bout intently from the floor. The veteran Timbs came to the ring with a game plan of drawing Wildfire into a slugfest but Rich proved to be more than capable of holding his own in that regard and got the better of the fight. It seemed only appropriate that Tommy ended things with a Diving Fist Drop off the second rope to gain the three count. Rich had some words for his antagonist OOR after the bell, but the Superstar ducked a confrontation with him by quietly returning backstage. Tommy then joined Gordon Solie at the announcers' desk and cut a brilliant promo on the Superstar that fired up the fans. Rich invited the masked man to come back down to ringside but his challenge went unaccepted.

4. Kevin Sullivan was nearly DQ'd in a submission victory over Bruce Gallagher at 4:37. Upset after being excluded from the afore-mentioned Championship Tournament, the spurned Sullivan took his wrath out on his opponent and tested the patience of Referee Jimmy McGuire in the process. Again and again Kevin pushed the envelope by displaying a complete disregard of both the rules and the official's repeated warnings. The situation reached a breaking point when Sullivan refused to release his Boston Crab after Gallagher had already submitted. McGuire was on the verge of disqualifying him when Kevin finally relented. Sullivan stormed off before the official could raise his hand in victory.

5. Looking like a kid fresh out of high school, young Bruno Sammartino Jr. (David Sammartino) had his problems with Snake Brown in our fifth contest. Despite his obvious inexperience, Bruno Jr. did not fall for Brown's bogus heel handshake trick to start the match. Try as he may to wrestle a clean scientific bout, Sammartino found himself caught up in the brawling style of his opponent where Snake clearly had the edge. Brown was on a roll following a big Body Slam, but was cradled in a Small Package when he bent over to pick Bruno Jr. up off the mat. Your winner via pinfall at 7:35 - Bruno Sammartino, Jr.

6. "Outlaw" Ron Bass was at the announcer's desk cutting a promo with Gordon Solie regarding his upcoming bout against Big Red at the Omni when Don Carson walked out onto the set. Carson, who is the manager of the Mongolian Stomper, disclosed that he was quite impressed with Bass and offered his managerial services to the Outlaw for future matches. Bass paused and said that he would consider the proposal. The two men shook hands and parted ways with Bass then climbing into the ring to face Deke Rivers. The Outlaw quickly took Rivers down with a cowboy boot to the midsection and proceeded to dominate his adversary for the entire duration of the match. Deke was flattened by a Running Clothesline off the ropes before being finished off with a Piledriver at 3:46.

7. The father/son team of "Bullet" Bob & Brad Armstrong bested Mike Davis & Buck Brannigan in a tag team contest at 3:24. Like the Freebirds who appeared earlier in the program, the Armstrongs are also participating in the National Tag Team Tournament. Brannigan and Davis had a fleeting moment of success with some roughhouse double team tactics , but things went bad in a hurry when they tried to whip the Armstrongs together from opposite corners of the ring. The maneuver was quickly reversed with the heels being sent crashing into one another in a violent collision. Brannigan stumbled backward right into a Backroll Press from Brad for the winning 1-2-3. The Armstrongs were interviewed by Gordon Solie afterward in regards to the upcoming Tag Team Tournament. "Bullet" Bob promised the fans that if he and his son won the belts, they would be fighting champions. The elder Armstrong then issued an open challenge to any team to step into the ring with them.

8. The Super Destroyer (masked Scott Irwin) defeated a game Mike Jackson at 3:21. Jackson may have given up a great deal in size to his masked opponent, but wrestled a competitive match nonetheless. The Destroyer appeared to be caught off guard by a Flying Head Scissors takedown, but was more than ready when Jackson attempted another aerial maneuver soon after. Mike's Flying Cross Body Press was thwarted when he was caught in mid air by the Destroyer who then transitioned his advantage into a devastating Shoulderbreaker to gain the three count. After the match, the Super Destroyer revealed to Gordon Solie that he preferred tag team wrestling over singles competition and was in search of a worthy partner. When Gordon asked if the Destroyer had anyone in mind, the masked man nodded. Solie pressed him for a name but the Destroyer would only say that the man in question would be making his GCW debut shortly.

Georgia Championship Wrestling Results (Circa Early 80's) - Bell Auditorium, Augusta, GA. Att: 5,255.

Referees: Doug Smith, Scrappy McGowan & George Scott Jr.

1. Charlie Cook and the Angel wrestled to a Double Disqualification to open the show. Cook tried his best to keep this match scientific in the early going, but found that he needed to fight fire with fire when the Angel broke out with the roughhouse tactics. Referee Charlie Smith administered warnings to both men and was promptly thrown down to the mat for his trouble. The official wasted no time in calling for the bell at 6:40.

2. Big Jim Duggan seems to have a vendetta against Steve O (Olsonoski). Steve O successfully fought off a Duggan sneak attack during an interview with Gordon Solie recently in the TBS Studios. This evening Duggan came down to ringside while Olsonoski was squaring off with Bobby Eaton in our second match. The big man from New York behaved himself for the most part that is until Eaton began fading fast in Steve O's Sleeper Hold. Duggan climbed up to the top rope and leveled Olsonoski with a Leaping Double Axe Handle to the back to draw the disqualification on Eaton. Duggan continued to put the boots to Steve O until Steve Keirn raced in to make the save.

3. Lumberjack Jos Leduc defeated Jerry Oates at 11:59. Oates was warmly received in Augusta and signed autographs for the fans during his ring entrance, but whatever bonus points he earned were quickly trumped by a roll on Leduc's Cheating Modifier. The Lumberjack also used his size advantage to great effect and wore Oates down as their match progressed. Leduc weakened his opponent with a prolonged Bear Hug before ending things with his trademark One-Armed Backbreaker.

4. Still seething from being left out of the upcoming National Heavyweight Championship Tournament, Kevin Sullivan brought his wounded ego and bad attitude with him to the Bell Auditorium and ambushed opponent Steve Keirn from behind during the match introductions. Kevin ignored Referee Scrappy McGowan endless warnings and continued to flagrantly break the rules along the way. Sullivan went too far, however, when he snatched the hammer off the time keeper's table and blatantly bashed his opponent in the back with it. McGowan called the match at 5:19 and awarded the bout to a battered Keirn by way of disqualification.

5. The team of Robert Fuller and Ted Dibiase defeated the Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy w/ Buddy Roberts) by DQ at 22:32. Michael Hayes has made a lot of noise lately regarding the upcoming National Tag Team Tournament to be held at the Omni. He called the process "a mere formality" in ultimately crowning the Freebirds as Georgia Tag Team Champions. Well, Ted Dibiase & Robert Fuller, who are also in the tournament, had something to say about that. Unlike the braggart Michael Hayes, however, they let their wrestling skills do all the "talking". More often than not, the Freebirds found themselves on the receiving end of the punishment this evening. Hayes eventually became trapped in Ted Dibiase's Figure Four Leg Lock and was on the verge of submission when Buddy Roberts raced in to break the hold and draw the DQ. The battle continued in the ring after the bell, but even with the man advantage the 'Birds took it on the chin and beat a hasty retreat to the back.

6. Mr. Wrestling II and the Mongolian Stomper (w/ Don Carson) were both disqualified in our Main Event. Carson was a major force in this match and did everything that he could to help his man pull out a victory. The devious manager lent a hand (literally) by giving the Stomper additional leverage during an Abdominal Stretch on Mr. Wrestling II. He also tripped the popular masked man and then pushed Wrestling II's foot off the bottom rope during the subsequent pin attempt. When he wasn't inserting himself into the action, Carson was distracting Referee Doug Smith thereby enabling the Stomper to cheat at will. Carson finally got his, though, when he was caught with a haymaker after climbing up onto the apron. Wrestling II then dragged Carson into the ring and continued to pummel his antagonist. The manager was knocked silly after a noggin knocker with the Stomper and then ate a Million Dollar Knee Lift moments later much to the fans' delight. Unable to restore order, Doug Smith called the match at 30:56 and DQ'd both men.

Georgia Championship Wrestling Results (Circa Early 80's) - Omni Coliseum, Atlanta, GA.

Commentators: Gordon Solie & Roddy Piper
Ring Announcer: Freddie Miller
Referees: Scrappy McGowan, Nick Patrick & George Scott Jr.

1. A very young and nervous Bruno Sammartino Jr.(David Sammartino) didn't quite look ready for the big time when he butchered a promo with Gordon Solie prior to his opening contest with the devious Professor Sonoda. Bruno Jr. is still learning the ropes at this early juncture of his career and his inexperience would be the deciding factor in the end. Feigning an injury following a well-executed Sammartino Powerslam off the ropes, a weary Sonoda sat up on his knees grimacing in pain and pleaded for mercy. Young Bruno hesitated to follow up on his advantage and was promptly cradled in a Small Package by the savvy Professor for the three count at 7:49.

2. National Tag Team Tournament Semi-Final Match. The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Gene & Ole Anderson) defeated the duo of Robert Fuller & Ted Dibiase via Count Out at 23:04 to advance to the Finals. Gordon Solie appeared to be genuinely surprised when the Minnesota Wrecking Crew chose to wrestle a largely scientific match against Dibiase & Fuller, but, alas, the Andersons showed their true colors once the action moved to the floor. While Referee Nick Patrick was busy trying to separate Ole Anderson and Robert Fuller, Gene Anderson grabbed one of the tournament's Tag Team Title Belts from the announcers' table and smashed Ted Dibiase in the forehead with it. Gene then quickly rolled himself back inside the ring while the official laid the ten count on the KO'd Dibiase.

3. National Championship Tournament Semi-Final Match. Mr. Wrestling II pinned "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer at 17:15. Unlike the Andersons before him, there was no mystery or pretense regarding Buzz Sawyer's intentions or wrestling style this evening. The Mad Dog was at his wild and unpredictable best, pushing the envelope and risking disqualification every step of the way in an all-out attempt to eliminate Mr.Wrestling II from the tournament. Sensing a golden opportunity once Referee George Scott Jr. had been spilled to the canvas, Buzz brought a folding chair into the ring and rushed toward his adversary only to have it sent into his own face by a Flying Drop Kick. The woozy official shook out the cobwebs to find Wrestling II making the cover on the dazed Sawyer and counted the 1-2-3.

4. Invoking the "Freebird Clause" of their contract with GCW, the Fabulous Freebirds (Buddy Roberts, Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy) kept everyone in the dark regarding which two members would wrestle in their National Tag Team Tournament Semi-Final Match against the father/son team of "Bullet" Bob Armstrong and Brad Armstrong. As it turned out, Roberts and Gordy did the honors with the flamboyant Michael Hayes keeping a watchful eye in their corner. Although he didn't actually wrestle per se, Hayes proved to be every bit as active as his brethren and interjected himself quite liberally into the action. Perhaps young Brad Armstrong could not be faulted for finally losing his temper and bailing from the ring to give the irritating Hayes his comeuppance on the floor. While Brad may have gotten the better of the brawl OOR, he was also counted out in the process at 16:39 thereby allowing the Freebirds to advance to the Tournament finals.

5. Tommy "Wildfire" Rich over the Masked Superstar in our other National Championship Semi-Final Match at 10:51. The Superstar boasted to Gordon Solie in a pre-match interview that no one could withstand the grueling pain of his Cobra Hold and would quickly give up once it was locked on. The masked man nearly ate his own words, however, when his opponent Tommy Rich applied the Cobra Hold to him instead ! Trapped in the middle of the ring and flailing away in pain, the desperate Superstar belted Referee Nick Patrick in the chops to save himself from the submission and drew the disqualification.

* Intermission *

6. Although they weren’t slated to be at the Omni tonight, the Mongolian Stomper and his manager Don Carson made their presence felt in the grudge match pitting Atlanta’s own Big Red Reese against “Outlaw” Ron Bass (w/ Bullwhip “Miss Betsy”). Carson has been actively pursuing Bass to join his stable and was no doubt looking to make a favorable impression on the heel from Pampa, TX by shoving his opponent off the 2nd rope just as Red was setting himself to deliver a Big Splash. Reese immediately went after Carson OOR, but was blind-sided by a chair shot from the Stomper before he could get his hands on him. Fortunately for Red, Bruce Reed was also in the building and ran down to ringside to lend a hand. A five man free-for-all insued with Bass also joining the fracas. Referee George Scott Jr. had enough and disqualified both participants at 14:59.

7. Heels in their first bout this evening, the Fabulous Freebirds now found themselves as the fan-favorites in the Tag Team Tournament Finals. Much to the delight of the crowd, Gordy, Roberts and Hayes ambled down the aisle to the familiar opening chords of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird" to take on the Minnesota Wrecking Crew. Referee Scrappy McGowan then drew the ire of the Freebirds and their fans by banishing Michael Hayes to the back before the opening bell. Undaunted by the loss of their boisterous cornerman, Roberts and Gordy took the battle to the Wrecking Crew. The 'Birds seemed to be on the verge of winning the titles after Gene Anderson was pulverized by a Gordy Piledriver, but Ole ran in with a stomp to the back to break up the subsequent pin count. Buddy Roberts then tagged in and perched himself on the 2nd rope to deliver a Flying Elbow Drop when Ole struck again. This time he grabbed Roberts boot and tripped him to the canvas allowing Gene to cradle the Freebird for the winning pinfall with a handful of tights at 21:03. The Minnesota Wrecking Crew win the National Tag Team Titles.

8. The National Heavyweight Championship Main Event was a classic contest pitting Tommy "Wildfire" Rich's youthful exuberance against the veteran savvy of Mr. Wrestling II. The bout began with a gentleman's handshake and was followed by what Gordon Solie referred to as "a somewhat cautious feeling out process". Rich then went on the offensive with a series of arm drags and which he transitioned into a standing wristlock. Wrestling II then pitched Wildfire to the ropes and bowled him over with a pair of shoulder tackles before grabbing Tommy in a hiplock takedown. Back and forth they went, headlocks reversed into hammerlocks and re-reversed into chinlocks. It was textbook mat wrestling at its finest with neither man being able to sustain the advantage. At no point did Rich ever attempt his Thesz Press finisher, nor did Wrestling II land his trademark Million Dollar Kneelift. The end came innocently enough when Tommy was able to roll through on the momentum of his opponent's Flying Cross Body Press and gained the winning three count on Mr. Wrestling II at 15:40. Once again the grapplers shook hands in a display of sportsmanship as the fans showed their appreciation with a well-deserved round of applause. Tommy Rich wins the National Heavyweight Championship !

Georgia Championship Wrestling Results (Circa Early 80's) – WTBS Studios, Atlanta, GA.

Commentator: Gordon Solie
Ring Announcer: Freddie Miller
Referee: Nick Patrick

1. Professor Sonoda opened the program with a Count Out victory over Don Gilbert at 3:59. Gordon Solie noted that the Japanese grappler gave a respectful bow to his opponent after the match introductions, however he was not surprised when Gilbert caught a Karate Chop to the back of the head as he tried to reciprocate the gesture in kind. The Professor immediately went to work on his foe with a barrage of martial arts kicks, chops and nerve holds before tossing Gilbert through the ropes and to the floor below. Sonoda then went out after him and connected with a Thrust Kick to the jaw. The dazed Gilbert tried to drag himself back inside the ring, but it was not in time to make Referee Nick Patrick's ten count.

2. Prior to their bout with Gypsy Joe & Jose Medina, Robert Fuller & Ted Dibiase cut a promo at the announcers' desk where they declared themselves primed and ready for the upcoming National Tag Team Tournament being held at the Omni. When asked if they had a preference of opponents by Gordon Solie, Dibiase responded by saying that he hoped that it would be the Fabulous Freebirds. Ted continued by remarking that "nothing would be sweeter than to win the titles at the Freebirds' expense in Atlanta." Apparently Mr. Dibiase's comments did not sit well with Buddy Roberts, Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy who emerged from backstage to watch the tag match. Actually, they did a little more than just "watch" the action - they inserted themselves into it. Dibiase was pulled down off the apron and immediately got into a scuffle with the 'Birds on the floor. Robert Fuller quickly bailed from the ring to come to his partner's assistance. While Fuller was successfully able to help Dibiase fight off their antagonists, he was also counted out by Nick Patrick in the process at 3:21.

3. "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer defeated Bobby Garrett at 2:40. Garrett made the mistake of trying to go toe to toe with the Mad Dog on TV, but proved to be no match for Sawyer when it came to the rough stuff. After gaining the upper hand in the brawling department, Buzz set out to re-arrange Garrett's facial features with a grueling neck twist and mouth stretch. Sawyer then ground his opponent's face into the mat and slapped the back of Bobby's head to add insult to injury. The Mad Dog ended things with his patented Flying Powerslam off the ropes soon after.

4. Big Red Reese was tested by his masked adversary The Gladiator before pulling out a victory at 6:12. Red's Head Butts, while normally quite effective, had little impact on his opponent this evening. Perhaps the Gladiator had, in fact, loaded his mask with some sort of foreign object because Red seemed to get the worse of the punishment. A reversal on a corner whip quickly put Reese back in the driver's seat, however. The 410lb fan favorite from Atlanta then followed up with a crushing Corner Avalanche to knock the wind out of the masked man. The Gladiator collapsed to the canvas with Red then taking a seat on his opponent's chest for the three count.

After the match, Red joined Gordon Solie at the announcers' desk where he was asked if he thought the Gladiator had indeed loaded his mask. Before he could answer, Reese was jumped from behind by "Outlaw" Ron Bass. The ornery Cowboy, who is scheduled to meet Reese on the card at the Omni, tried to choke out Red with his Bull Whip "Miss Betsy" but Bruce (Butch) Reed raced onto the set to make the save. The Mongolian Stomper’s devious manager Don Carson could be seen off to the side smiling keenly.

5. The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Gene & Ole Anderson) are also competitors in the upcoming National Tag Team Tournament. The Andersons thoroughly dismantled the tandem of Roberto Soto & Jim Gallagher in their usual fashion. Keying their attack on the left arms of their opponents, Ole & Gene administered punishing Hammerlock Body Slams and wrenching Arm Twists. Jim Gallagher, in particular, was isolated in the ring and prevented from tagging out to his partner. A Diving Knee Smash to Gallagher's shoulder by Ole set up brother Gene's Arm Lock Submission at 5:19.

6. Mr. Wrestling II had no problems with Rick Connors in our sixth match. The masked grappler demonstrated superior mat skills in this one-sided contest. Connors seemed to have no choice but to resort to cheating and roughhouse tactics if he hoped to provide any manner of competition for the cagey veteran. Wrestling II proved to be quite capable with the fisticuffs as well before polishing off Connors with his Million Dollar Knee Lift at 4:16. The iconic masked man is a semi-finalist in the National Heavyweight Championship Tournament and is slated to face Buzz Sawyer at the Omni.

7. The Masked Superstar is also a semi-finalist in the National Championship Tournament and explained why he considers himself to be the odds on favorite to win the Title in an interview with Gordon Solie prior to his match with Denny Brown tonight.

Choosing his words carefully and deliberately, the Superstar complimented his fellow competitors Tommy Rich, Buzz Sawyer and Mr. Wrestling II, but said that he has the one weapon that will ultimately give him the edge over all the rest - the Cobra - "a submission hold from which there is no escape." The Superstar then climbed into the ring and completely annihilated Denny Brown with a curious mixture of technical prowess, brawling and downright blatant cheating. A Swinging Neckbreaker appeared to be more than enough to put Brown away, however the masked man pulled him up before the three count and sent him to the ropes for a devastating Flying Clothesline. Once again the Superstar would not permit the three count and opted instead to clamp on the dreaded Cobra Hold. Denny was out in a matter of seconds but the Superstar refused to let go despite Referee Nick Patrick's orders. Tommy Rich ran in from the back with a barrage of punches to finally drive off the sadistic masked man.

8. In our final contest, Bruce Reed bested Marvin Turner at 4:15. The former University of Central Missouri football standout showed incredible strength by pressing Turner over his head and then slamming him to the mat. Reed followed up with a pair of diving Head Butts and then perched himself on the second rope while his woozy opponent struggled to get back to his feet. Turner was greeted with a Flying Shoulder Tackle for the winning pinfall moments later.

After the bout, Reed's post-match interview with Gordon Solie was rudely interrupted by Don Carson who warned him to keep his nose out of other peoples' business. (Carson was no doubt referring to the Ron Bass/Big Red incident earlier in the program). Throwing caution to the wind, Reed hoisted the shady manager up by his tux lapels and was threatening to haul off and smack him when he was suddenly ambushed from behind by a chair shot from the Mongolian Stomper. Carson and the Stomper put the boots to Reed until Big Red returned the favor by coming to the football star's rescue and driving off the heels.

Announcers: Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse "The Body" Ventura
Ring Announcer: "Mean" Gene Okerlund
Referees: Danny Davis & Mike Chioda

1. "The Birdman" Koko B. Ware (w/ Frankie) pinned the Brooklyn Brawler (w/ stogie) after the Ghostbuster (Brainbuster) at 5:42.

2. Zeus (w/ no talent & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) over Outback Jack (also w/ no talent but w/ a boomerang) at 6:33. Zeus clobbered Jack with his own boomerang while Referee Danny Davis was preoccupied with Bobby Heenan up on the apron. Davis finally turned around and counted the pin when he found Zeus making the cover on his dazed opponent.

3. Grudge Match. Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake defeated his former manager "Luscious" Johnny V at 4:42. It was nighty-night time for Johnny V after the manager got caught in Beefcake's Sleeper Hold bounding off the ropes. The snoozing Johnny also got a trim from "The Barber" while he dozed.

4. The devious Mr. Fuji's Orient Express (Pat Tanaka & Kato) beat the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Jacques & Raymond) at 8:39. Tanaka snuck into the ring and reversed Jacques' Small Package on Kato while Referee Danny Davis was sending Raymond back to his corner. Davis turned around to find Kato on top and counted the pin on Jacques.

5. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat electrified the crowd first with his fire-breathing entrance and then with a Diving Cross Body Press off the top rope to pin "The Natural" Butch Reed (w/ not-so-natural blonde hair and his manager "The Doctor of Style" Slick) at 8:45.

6. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) over Jake "The Snake" Roberts (w/ Damian in a burlap sack) via Count Out at 11:38. Orndorff decked Jake with a chair shot on the floor while Referee Danny Davis was tying his shoe. The groggy Roberts desperately tried to make the count but Davis seemed to speed up his cadence and called for the bell. After the bout, Jake pleaded his case to the ref but to no avail. The frustrated Roberts removed Damian from its bag, snuck up on Davis and draped the snake across the controversial ref's neck and shoulders. Davis screamed and ran back to the dressing room with Damian still wrapped around him.

7. WWF World Title Match. Champion Hulk Hogan (w/ "Real American" Entrance Music & Muscle Poses) over the "Macho Man" Randy Savage (w/ "Pomp & Circumstance" Entrance Music & the Lovely Miss Elizabeth) at 24:21. Savage thought he had won the title with a Bridging Back Suplex but it was his shoulders and not Hulk's that were down for Referee Mike Chioda's three count. Savage was beside himself when "Mean Gene" announced the Hulkster as the winner.

1. "Leaping" Lanny Poffo (w/ corny poem on a frisbee) beat Bob "The Cat" Bradley with a Moonsault off the top rope at 4:00. The irate vender threw the frisbee back at Poffo but it bonked off of Referee Earl Hebner's back.

2. Hercules Hernandez (w/ 10 feet of chain and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) defeated Jim Powers at 5:24. Powers submitted to Hercules' Torture Rack Backbreaker.

3. The British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith w/ mascot Matilda) over the Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov w/ "The Doctor of Style" Slick) by DQ at 7:14. Volkoff was caught slugging Davey Boy with Howard Finkel's microphone.

4. "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase (w/ Virgil) over Haku at 7:25. Haku submitted to the Million Dollar Dream Sleeper Hold after an undetected Low Blow by Virgil turned the tide of the match.

5. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan (w/ 2 x 4 and a big Thumbs Up) beat Bad News Brown at 8:35. Brown's undefeated streak in the WWF came to an ubrupt end after he was pinned with Duggan's Running Clothesline from a 3-point stance.

6. Intercontinental Title Match. Challenger Big Boss Man defeated the Champion Honky Tonk Man (w/ "Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart & Peggy Sue) by Count Out at 11:48. Honky took a beating tonight and could muster very little offense in this title defense. It appeared as though Jimmy Hart told the Champ to "stay down" after Honky was tossed OOR. Referee Earl Hebner administered the ten count as the Champ grabbed his belt off the timekeeper's table, proudly held it aloft and returned to the locker room to a chorus of "Boos !" from the fans. Honky Tonk Man retains the Intercontinental Title.

1. Lord Humongous (w/ Downtown Bruno) mauled Davey Haskins before finally pinning him with a Chokeslam off the ropes at 2:02.

2. General Skandor Akbar's Devastation Incorporated ("Wild" Bill Irwin & "Bad" Leroy Brown) over Art Crews & Bobby Perez. Akbar's troops did a good job of keeping Crews out of the match and preventing a much needed tag. Brown put Bobby Perez away with a Big Splash at 3:45.

3. "Fabulous Freebird" Buddy Roberts (w/ fellow Freebird Michael P.S. Hayes) defeated Brickhouse Brown at 5:27. Brown had his moments in this match but allowed himself to be distracted by motor-mouth Michael Hayes' antics at ringside. Roberts followed up with a Double Axe Handle from behind and ended things with a Bulldog out of the corner.

Interview segment between Joe Bryan and Terry Taylor in the ring. A battered and bruised Terry Taylor, sporting sunglasses to conceal a shiner, and a bandage on his forehead where he had been busted open by Chris Adams last week, comes out on crutches and issues a bounty on his former friend and tag team partner. Taylor offers $5,000 of his own money to any man who could put Adams out of wrestling for good. Taylor, playing the innocent victim here and trying to draw sympathy from both Joe Bryan and his viewing audience, explains that he would take care of Adams himself but that he is presently incapacitated due to injuries sustained at the hands of "that cruel animal".

Taylor: "Joe, I came to that ring last week with the intention of having a clean match with Chris Adams. I wanted to wrestle him fair and square and prove that I was the better man and what did he do ? He tried to cripple me and end my career ! You saw it ! The man is a sadistic monster !"

Bryan: "I did see it, Terry, and maybe if you hadn't stabbed Adams in the back and joined forces with "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt, none of this would have ever happened ! Maybe you got what you had coming to you (Loud cheers from the crowd as Taylor pleads for quiet) And another thing, why are you on those crutches ?? You were walking just fine the other day ! Is this some kind of cheap charade ? "

Joe grabs one of Terry's crutches from him to prove his point. Taylor nearly falls over and is hopping on one foot and lunging to get it back. Terry has Joe cornered and is threatening to hit him with his one remaining crutch when the fans go wild. Chris Adams runs into the ring, spins Taylor around and decks him with a Superkick. More screams from the fans as Eddie Gilbert sneaks into the ring and blinds Adams with a fireball. Gilbert and Taylor are putting the boots to Adams as he writhes on the canvas clutching his eyes. Sting runs in with a double clothesline that sends Taylor and Gilbert over the top rope and out onto the floor. The heels beat a hasty retreat as Sting and Joe check on Adams.

4. "Dirty" Dick Murdoch was tested by youngster Shane Douglas but managed to pull out a victory. Feigning an injury, the cagey veteran Murdoch raised a boot on a corner charge that caught his unsuspecting opponent flush on the chin. Dirty Dick then finished off Douglas with his Delayed Brainbuster for the pinfall at 6:13.

5. "Louisville Slugger" Big Bubba Rogers (w/ Jim Cornette) over Ted Dibiase via Count Out at 9:13. With Jim Cornette up on the apron arguing with Referee Tommy Gilbert, Big Bubba smashed Dibiase from behind with Cornette's tennis racket during OOR action. Dibiase was down and out for the ten count.

6. UWF Tag Team Title Match. In the never ending war between the Champion Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) and their nemesis challengers, the Kiwi Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Cousin Luke Williams w/ Lord Jonathan Boyd), the champs retained their belts by DQ at 8:43. After repeated warnings, Referee Edward Faulk called the match when the Sheepherders refused to cease a Double Team Beatdown of Tommy Rogers in their corner. Bobby Fulton finally cleared the ring with a chair.

1. The scheduled opening bout between Art Crews and Mike Boyette never took place. Terry Taylor, dressed in a snappy suit and sunglasses, entered the ring with a halliburton briefcase and held up the show. Joe Bryan left his broadcast position to get a word with Taylor.

Joe: "What are you doing out here, Terry Taylor ? You have no business being in the ring!"

Taylor: "Now hang on, Joe. Cool your heels. For your information I do have business to attend to here in this ring."

(Taylor turns his attention to Art Crews.)

Taylor: "Art, you've been around this business for a long time and I know a man of your stature would never pass up on a golden opportunity like this. I placed a bounty on the head of that lowlife cretin "Gentleman" Chris Adams...(Smattering of boos from the crowd).... and I have $5,000 right here in this briefcase if you can put Adams out of wrestling for good."

(Crews smiles at Taylor and shakes his head.)

Taylor: "Why waste your time with Boyette when you can have yourself a real payday here, buddy ?"

(Crews has heard enough and motions for Taylor to get out of the ring.)

Joe: "I think you have your answer there, Terry Taylor, and it sounds like a "NO" to me. !" (The fans cheer for Crews)

Taylor: "Art, listen to me. Hear me out now. I saw that old jalopy you drove up in today, okay. I mean, that heap shouldn't even be allowed on the road. Am I right ? It's a disgrace ! A man like you driving a clunker like that ! What's the world coming to ?? Wouldn't you like a fancy new sports car like mine instead ? All you have to do is get rid of Adams and it's yours, buddy. Believe me, you'ld be doing the whole UWF a favor !"

Crews: "First of all, Taylor, I'm not your 'buddy'.... (cheers from the crowd) Second, I don't judge a man by the kind of car he drives... (more cheers from the crowd).... and third, if you want Adams gone so bad, why don't you be a man and do it yourself ?" (Another loud ovation from the fans !)

Joe: "How about it, Taylor ?"

Taylor: "Now, Joe, you know the doctor hasn't cleared me for wrestling yet. It's gonna take some time, okay ? Adams tried to end my career and ...

Taylor suddenly lurches at Crews and bashes him in the head with the halliburton. Taylor is just going berserk on Crews and stomping away on him with his dress shoes. It's obvious to everyone that there is nothing physically wrong with Terry Taylor. Boyette tries to make the save and gets tossed out of the ring. Joe Bryan is motioning to the back for more help and "Gentleman" Chris Adams runs out. Taylor hightails it out of the ring and flees as Joe and Chris check on Crews' condition.

2. "The Unpredictable" Dick Slater (w/ valet Dark Journey) over "The Raging Greek" Mike Pappas with his patented Knee Drop at 4:52.

3. Savannah Jack defeated "Gorgeous" Gary Young (w/ Downtown Bruno) at 7:12. With Referee Jerry Usher knocked down in the action, Bruno handed Gary Young a folding chair but Savannah Superkicked the chair into Young's face. Usher recovered to make the three count on the KO'd Young.

4. The Lightning Express (Brad Armstrong & "White Lightning" Tim Hoerner) defeated General Skandor Akbar's Devastation Incorporated (Bad, Leroy Brown & "Wild" Bill Irwin) at 7:35. Irwin was in the process of Body Slamming Hoerner when Brad Armstrong entered the ring and Drop Kicked his partner on top of "Wild" Bill for the winning pinfall.

5. Sam Houston pinned "Fabulous Freebird" Michael P.S. Hayes at 8:40 after fellow "Freebird" Buddy Roberts accidentally clocked Hayes with Ring Announcer Joel Watts' microphone.

6. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams put away "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer with his Oklahoma Stampede (Running Powerslam) at 11:48 after Buzz missed a high risk leap off the top rope and found nothing but canvas.

1. "Louisville Slugger" Big Bubba Rogers (w/ Jim Cornette) crushed Davey Haskins with a Splash off the top rope at 3:23.

2. The Angel of Death (w/ Sunshine) over Brett Sawyer (w/ "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer) at 5:31. The Angel sent Brett crashing into brother Buzz who had climbed up onto the apron to interfere. Brett staggered right into the Death Wish (Flying Clothesline off the 2nd rope) for the pinfall.

3. The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael P.S. Hayes & Buddy Roberts w/ Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy) defeated Los Guerreros (Chavo & Mando Guerrero) at 7:29. Referee Tommy Gilbert had his hands full trying to maintain order as all four men battled it out. Gordy snuck into the ring amidst all the chaos and joined in with Buddy Roberts to deliver a Double DDT onto Mando behind the Ref's back. Gilbert finally turned around to find Roberts making the cover and counted the pin.

4. Looking to cash in on Terry Taylor's bounty, Eli the Eliminator was DQ'd in his match against "Gentleman" Chris Adams at 6:43 after wrapping General Skandor Akbar's headdress around Adams neck and hanging him over the top rope. Sting rushed out to make the save and chase off Eli.

5. UWF TV Title Match. Challenger Shane Douglas defeated the Champion "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel by DQ when Landel's valet Missy Hyatt ran into the ring to break up the pin after Douglas connected with his Belly to Belly Suplex off the ropes at 8:03. Buddy Landel retains the TV Title.

6. In the Main Event, Ted Dibiase brought the fans to their feet after pinning Lord Humongous (w/ Downtown Bruno) at 9:40. It looked like curtains for Dibiase when Lord Humongous was hoisting him up for a Powerbomb, but Ted managed to flip out of it and plant Humongous with a Facebuster for the pinfall.

Jim Ross: "Hello again, Ladies & Gentlemen, and welcome to UWF All Star Wrestling. Joining me this evening to call all the action is my broadcast partner "Jolting" Joe Bryan. Joe, it's good to have you back with us. I understand that you did a little investigating into this ongoing Terry Taylor situation while you were away?"

Joe Bryan: "It's great to be back with you and all the great fans of the UWF, Jim. Terry Taylor has claimed for weeks now that he does not have medical clearance to wrestle due to "injuries" sustained at the hands of "Gentleman" Chris Adams. Well, I did some digging and had quite an interesting conversation with Dr. Arthur Stone who was the physician that treated Taylor following the Adam's match. We are trying to make arrangements for Dr. Stone to appear on our program and share his findings with us."

Jim Ross: "We look forward to what Dr. Stone has to say, Joe. In the meantime, we have Taylor's bounty to deal with. As you know, fans, Terry Taylor has placed a $5,000 bounty on the head of Chris Adams. Taylor has been carrying around a Halliburton suitcase of cash for any man who can put Adams out of wrestling for good. We saw Devastation Incorporated's Eli the Eliminator nearly collect last week."

Joe Bryan: "UWF Commissioner John Ayers has got to take another look at this bounty situation, Jim. We're talking about a man's livelihood, here. There's no place in wrestling for this sort of thing."

Jim Ross: "I couldn't agree with you more, Joe. Let's head down to ringside for our first match featuring exciting youngster Steve Cox !"

1. Steve "Do It To It" Cox pinned Gustavo Mendoza with a Russian Leg Sweep at 4:01.

2. Veteran Art Crews was flattened by a Corner Avalanche from his opponent, Devastation Incorporated's Bad, Bad Leroy Brown, and then finished off with a Big Splash at 4:26. After the bout, Brown's manager General Skandor Akbar got in a few stomps to Crews while Referee Tommy Gilbert admonished Leroy for his actions.

Ringside Interview with Joe Bryan and "Gentleman" Chris Adams.

Joe Bryan: "Chris, you can't be happy with this dangerous bounty situation."

Chris Adams: "It's like living in a bloody shooting gallery, Joe. Where ever I go, I've got to have eyes in the back of me head, mate. They're coming out of the bloody woodwork they are."

Joe Bryan: "Sting has been a great ally for you, Chris, hasn't he ? He's really stood beside you through this."

Chris Adams: "Yes he has, Joe. Sting is a man that I know I can depend on and..."

(Adams attention is suddenly diverted to a figure lurking in the shadows off camera. We see that it is Big Bubba Rogers who is jawing with Adams.)

Chris Adams (to Bubba): "You want a piece of me, mate, eh ? Is that it ? Have a go then ! Come on !"

Joe Bryan: "Look Out !!"

("Wild" Bill Irwin rushes at Adams from out of nowhere but Adams somehow sees him coming and levels Irwin with a Superkick. Adams grabs a folding chair to keep Big Bubba and Irwin at bay. Sting rushes in and the two bounty hunters beat a hasty retreat.)

Chris Adams: "You'll pay for this, Taylor !! I promise you, mate ! You're a yellow dog, Taylor ! I beat you to a bloody pulp once before and I'll do it again if I ever get my hands on you !!"

3. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams electrified the crowd with his Oklahoma Stampede (Running Powerslam) to pin Jack Victory at 5:07.

Ringside Interview with Joe Bryan, "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert & Missy Hyatt.

Joe Bryan: "Alright, Eddie Gilbert, what in the world is going on with Terry Taylor and when will we see him in the ring again?"

Eddie Gilbert: "It's not for me to say, Joe. The doctors have not cleared him to..."

Joe Bryan: "Wait a minute - stop right there - I spoke to the doctor myself and he has quite a different story than what you're telling us here !"

Eddie Gilbert: "What ?? Who'd you talk to, Bryan ?? Why wasn't I told ??"

Joe Bryan: "Don't give me the business, Gilbert !! Terry Taylor can wrestle any time he pleases and you know it !! (The fans roar !) The fact is that Taylor is afraid to get in the ring with Chris Adams !!" (Another roar from the crowd !)

Eddie Gilbert: "The fact is that you don't know what you're talking about, Bryan !! Terry Taylor can't wait to get back in the ring !! He and I are shooting for the Fantastics and those UWF Tag Team Titles but we have to wait for Terry to be cleared by the doctors !! Tell him, Pumpkin !!"

(Joe turns to Missy Hyatt while Gilbert tries to quiet the crowd.)

Joe Bryan: "How about it, Missy Hyatt ? Do you have anything to add ?"

(Missy is flipping through the pages of a fashion magazine. She shows Joe a picture of some high heels.)

Missy Hyatt: "Do you think these shoes would go with my outfit, Joe Bryan ?"

Joe Bryan: "I can care less about your shoes, Missy. Where is Terry Taylor ?"

Missy Hyatt: "Oh, he's around here somewhere. (Missy is back to her fashion magazine.) This Louis Vuitton purse is just devine for Summer. I wonder if it comes in mauve ?"

(Joe rolls his eyes. He's heard enough.)

Joe Bryan: "I think that's all we're going to get out of these two, fans. Let's get back to the ring for our next match."

4. Big Russian Kortsia Korchenko missed a corner charge and staggered right into "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan's Running Forearm from a 3-Point Stance to set up the winning pinfall at 7:56.

A roving cameraman finds all three Fabulous Freebirds huddled together backstage discussing the bounty on Chris Adams. "Get that damn camera outta here !" Michael Hayes shouts as Buddy Roberts covers the lens with his hand. Roberts pushes the cameraman out of the locker room and slams the door in his face.

5. The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Cousin Luke Williams) won by DQ over the Lightning Express (Brad Armstrong & "White Lightning" Tim Hoerner) at 8:36. Fed up with the Sheepherders relentless cheating, Tim Hoerner cracked Cousin Luke over the back with the Kiwi's own flag pole. Unfortunately for Hoerner, Referee Jerry Usher saw the infraction and called for the bell.

6. Sam Houston won by DQ over Fabulous Freebird Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy at 9:08. Houston connected with his Bulldog finisher out of the corner but the subsequent pin attempt was broken up when Freebirds Michael P.S. Hayes and Buddy Roberts entered the ring. The outnumbered and corned Houston looked like he was in a world of trouble until "Gentleman" Chris Adams and Sting suddenly ran in to even the odds.

Jim Ross: "We've got us a stand off here, Ladies & Gentlemen !! This thing can blow like a powder keg at any minute !!"

Joe Bryan: "A lot of finger-pointing and jabbering goin' on in that ring, Jim, but no punches being thrown so far !!"

Jim Ross: "I tell you, Joe, it's that damn bounty of Terry Taylor's !! We're outta time !! We're outta time !! Join us again next week for more exciting UWF action !!"

Announcers: WTNH Channel 8 Sportscaster Dick Galliette
Ring Announcer: Howard Finkel
Referees: John Stanley & Billy Caputo

1.”Continental Nobleman” Joe Turko over Hartford’s own “Flying” Fred Curry via Count Out in our opening contest. A prematch pat down by Referee John Stanley revealed that Turco was packing a foreign object. The weapon was quickly confiscated by the official and forced the Nobleman to devise a new strategy. Turco’s solution was to take the battle to the floor of the Coliseum where he hoped to have the advantage. Curry more than held his own OOR, though, and reversed his opponent’s whip into the steel barricade surrounding ringside. The cagey Turco feigned an injury and was able to side-step Flying Fred’s subsequent charge. Curry sailed over the railing and ended up in the first row of spectators where he became entangled in some folding chairs. The Nobleman was barely able to beat Stanley’s ten count, however Curry was not as fortunate. Flying Fred was counted out at 4:22.

2. In a Special Midget Tag Team Attraction, Little Tokyo & Lord Littlebrook defeated the duo of Coconut Willie & the Haiti Kid at 6:40. As always, the little people put on quite a show and caused Referee Billy Caputo all sorts of trouble with their high jinks. Lord Littlebrook pinned the Haiti Kid after a smash to the chops with Ring Announcer Howard Finkel’s microphone.

3. Johnny Rivera and “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe were both DQ’d by Referee John Stanley at 9:03. Sharpe drew the wrath of the New Haven crowd after tearing up a youngster’s cardboard sign while he made his way down the aisle for the match introductions. The fans were more than happy to see the speedy Rivera dominate Sharpe in the early going with his repertoire of aerial maneuvers, however the Pretty Boy was able to change the tempo of the bout by baiting his adversary into a slugfest. After repeated warnings to Sharpe and Rivera about their use of closed fists, Stanley was simultaneously pushed down to the canvas by both grapplers which led to the Double Disqualification.

4. Olympic Strongman Ken Patera (w/ Captain Louis Albano) beat S.D. “Special Delivery” Jones at 6:49. Despite receiving a hefty bonus for rolling on his Strength Modifier, Patera had his problems in this match. The Olympic Strongman was more interested in flexing his muscles and kissing his biceps than he was in actually wrestling. Jones capitalized on his opportunity and had Patera reeling with a flurry of Head Butts and punches. Enter Captain Louis Albano who pulled Special Deliver’s foot out from under him while S.D. was setting himself on the 2nd rope to deliver another Leaping Head Butt. Patera quickly pounced on the prone Jones and grabbed a handful of tights to secure the three count.

5. Larry Zbyszko over “Iron Greek” Spiros Arion (w/ “Hollywood Fashion Plate” Classy Freddie Blassie) via Count Out at 9:27. Arion had to overcome an initial deduction of points after a rowdy section of Eli students cheered for the Iron Greek during Howard Finkel’s match introductions. The real story of this bout would be Freddie Blassie’s teakwood cane. Things took an interesting turn when the action spilled OOR. Zybyszko was able wrest the walking stick from his adversary’s grasp and reverse the cane smash to Arion’s noggin. The Iron Greek was dazed and staggered about ringside as Referee John Stanley put the ten count on him.

6. “Polish Power” Ivan Putski over “Crazy” Luke Graham (w/ the Grand Wizard of Wrestling) at 6:49. Putski delighted the crowd by bellowing “Polish Power” over the house mic after the match introductions. Ivan then prompted the fans to chant “Crazy Luke ! Crazy Luke !” which caused his temperamental foe to continuously cower in the corner and cover his ears. Graham appeared to be out of kilter the entire match and hurt his chances further after crashing into the turnbuckle on a missed corner charge. Putski finished off Luke with his trademark Polish Hammer moments later to gain the victory.

7. The Valiant Brothers (“Handsome” Jimmy & “Luscious” Johnny) seem to have nine lives when it comes to finding a way to retain their highly coveted WWWF Tag Team Championship Belts. Their opponents in tonight’s Main Event bout, Dino Bravo & Dominic Denucci, came up empty in their bid to win the titles. Both Bravo and Denucci have been attacked by the Valiants in separate skirmishes over the past few weeks, and came to the ring with payback on their minds tonight. The challengers dropped their usual technical style of wrestling in favor of brawling this evening and pummeled the Valiants right from the opening bell. This match ended up on the floor where both teams were counted out by Referee John Stanley at 17:55 during a four man free-for-all. The Valiant Brothers retain the WWWF Tag Team Championship.

1.“Quick Draw” Rick McGraw defeated Jose Estrada in our opening contest at 3:51. McGraw’s ring entrance drew lots of cheers in Utica which bolstered his points total. Quick Draw leap frogged over Estrada’s Back Body Drop attempt and rebounded off the ropes with a Flying Cross Body Press to gain the three count.

2. In a Special Ladies Match, Judy Martin defeated Joyce Grable at 8:59. The story of this bout was Leilani Kai who officiated the contest as the special “Guest Referee”. Although she was suppose to be impartial, Kai clearly showed favoritism to Judy Martin throughout the contest ; none more evident than by employing a fast count on Judy’s Small Package that resulted in the winning 1-2-3. (It should be noted that Leilani also missed Martin’s hand full of tights on Grable during the pinfall.)

3. WWWF Champion Bruno Sammartino, who is scheduled to defend his title against “The Big Cat” Ernie Ladd in tonight’s Main Event, gave a glowing endorsement to his fellow countryman Dominic Denucci in an interview with Vince McMahon prior to Dominic’s match against Baron Scicluna. The Baron didn’t care for that one bit and shouted a few choice words to Bruno in Italian which drew the wrath of the Champ. Sammartino had to be restrained from getting at Scicluna by several WWWF officials before being escorted to the back. Bruno no doubt took great delight and satisfaction when Denucci pinned the Baron following an Airplane Spin at 8:27.

4. Victor Rivera over George “The Animal” Steele (w/ Manager Captain Louis Albano) at 12:29. Rivera gained valuable points for this bout by signing autographs for youngsters who flocked around him with their programs during his ring entrance. Victor endured tremendous punishment from the Animal when the action moved to the floor, but he slingshotted himself back into the ring from the apron to surprise Steele with a Sunset Flip for the victory.

5. All heck broke loose before the opening bell in a scheduled tag team contest pitting Mr. Fuji & Professor Toru Tanaka against Tony Garea & Larry Zbyszko. The trouble began when the heels attacked Zbyszko and Garea from behind as the popular duo made their way down to ringside for the match introductions. Mr. Fuji attempted to toss a handful of ceremonial salt into Garea’s eyes during the skirmish in the aisle, but ended up getting a fan with it instead. The ugly incident nearly sparked a riot as Tanaka and Fuji were pelted with cups and debris by the hostile crowd. Ring attendants and security staff quickly stepped in to restore order. The contest was declared a “No Contest” by Referee Gilberto Roman since the match never officially started.

6. Chief Jay Strongbow from Pawhuska, Oklahoma beat “The One Man Riot Squad” Dick “The Bulldog” Brower via DQ at 6:42. Brower was completely out of control in this match and on the brink of disqualification right from the onset. Referee Wee Willie Weber allowed a lot of leeway to help try and decide a winner, but the Bulldog went too far when he slugged the official after being repeatedly warned about his rule-breaking tactics.

7. Always excellent on the mic, “The Big Cat” Ernie Ladd cut a brilliant promo with Vince McMahon prior to tonight’s WWWF Title Match against Bruno Sammartino. Ladd used the bonus points that he earned from the interview to great effect and pushed the Champ to the brink with several near pinfalls. Things took an interesting turn, however, when Baron Scicluna emerged from the locker room and strode down to ringside. Still smarting from Bruno’s snub earlier in the program, Scicluna was looking for a little payback and waited for an opportunity to strike. His chance came when Referee Dick Woehrle became embroiled in a heated argument with Ladd’s manager The Grand Wizard of Wrestling. The Baron snuck into the ring with a folding chair, but errantly smashed it over the Big Cat’s head when Sammartino ducked at the last instant. Bruno then stunned the Baron with a flurry of punches before dispatching Scicluna from the ring with a roundhouse haymaker. The preoccupied Woehrle finally turned around to find the Champion covering the KO’d Ladd and counted the 1-2-3. Bruno Sammartino retains the WWWF Title.

1. ”Philadelphia’s Favorite Son” S.D. “Special Delivery” Jones pinned Charlie Fulton in our opening contest. Jones was well received in Boston and borrowed the house mic to thank the fans for their support. Fulton seized the moment with a sneak attack from behind to gain the early advantage, but a missed corner charge quickly turned the title of the battle. Special Delivery hopped up to the 2nd rope and finished Charlie off with a Leaping Head Butt for the 1-2-3.

2. Still fuming over her controversial loss to Judy Martin in Utica, N.Y., last week, Joyce Grable enlisted the help of Vicki Williams as the duo took on Martin and Leilani Kai in a tag team match. (One might recall that Kai was the Special Guest Referee for the bout in Utica and employed some rather dubious officiating.) A roll on their Cheating Modifier was just what the doctor ordered to give Martin & Kai the victory tonight. Grable had her nemesis Martin caught in a Small Package, but Kai snuck into the ring and reversed the cradle while Referee John Benello was sending Williams back to her corner. The official turned around and counted the pin for Martin.

3. The bout between the Golden Terror and Steve Travis never took place. Travis was cutting a promo with Vince McMahon at ringside prior to the match when he was suddenly jumped from behind by newcomer “Cowboy” Bobby Duncum. No doubt looking to make an impression upon both the WWWF fans and wrestlers alike, Duncum viciously drove Travis face-first into the floor with a Running Bulldog before issuing a challenge to Champion Bruno Sammartino in his customary southern drawl.

4. “The Man of a Thousand Masks” Mil Mascaras teamed up with El Olympico to defeat “Dynamite” Jack Evans & “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe in tag team action. Sharpe and Evans seemed overly distracted by an annoying heckler in the crowd. Time and time again they let their guard down to jaw with troublemaker. The speedy masked men were able to take advantage of their preoccupied foes with a repertoire of flashy aerial maneuvers. The end came when Olympico Drop Kicked Evans right into Mascaras’ Flying Crucifix for the three count at 7:12.

5. Dino Bravo pinned “Handsome” Jimmy Valiant at 10:33. Bravo initially lost points for this bout when he became flustered during a pre-match interview with Vince McMahon thanks to Captain Louis Albano. Blowing on a whistle and making a general nuisance of himself, the irritating Albano interrupted Dino’s promo to make a special announcement. The Captain proudly proclaimed himself to be Bobby Duncum’s new manager and welcomed the ornery cowboy to his stable which includes George “The Animal” Steele, Ken Patera and the WWWF Tag Team Champion Valiant Brothers. Albano then stuck around ringside to be in Valiant’s corner once the match finally got under way. It might have been better for Handsome Jimmy if he hadn’t. An errant chair smash by the Captain set Valiant up for Bravo’s Airplane Spin finisher. Albano raced into the ring to try and break up the maneuver, but Handsome Jimmy’s whirling feet knocked the rotund manager through the ropes and sent him crashing to the floor below.

6. Stan “The Man” Stasiak (w/ the Grand Wizard of Wrestling) defeated “Polish Power” Ivan Putski in a controversial ending at 11:26. This match saw both grapplers connect with their finishing maneuvers. Stan the Man sustained the Polish Hammer off the ropes, but Referee Tony Altimore was caught up in a heated argument with the Grand Wizard and completely missed the pin. Stasiak persevered and eventually landed his trademark Heart Punch in the corner. Putski managed to get a foot on the ropes to spoil the pin, but it was pushed off by the Grand Wizard before the official could see it. Altimore counted the 1-2-3 to give Stasiak the victory.

7. “Olympic Strongman” Ken Patera (w/ Captain Louis Albano) over “The Eighth Wonder of the World” Andre the Giant via Referee’s Decision in the Main Event at 17:53. Looking to atone for his miscue in the Valiant/Bravo match earlier this evening, the devious Albano distracted Referee Dick Kroll just long enough for “Cowboy” Bobby Duncum to sneak down to ringside and bash Andre in the head with a cowbell. The Giant was able to kick out of Patera’s subsequent pin attempt, however the blow from the object opened a large gash on his forehead. The ruthless Patera continued to work on the laceration and opened the cut still further. Bleeding profusely, the enraged Giant began to mount a comeback and flattened Patera with a barrage of fists and Head Butts. Fearing for Andre’s safety, the official examined the wound and stopped the bout due to the blood loss. The decision sent the Giant on a rampage. Andre cleared the ring of both Patera and Kroll and had some choice words for one Bobby Duncum in particular.

Commentator: Vince McMahon Jr.
Ring Announcer: Gary Cappetta
Referees: Gilberto Roman, Dick Woehrle & John Stanley

1.The opening contest between Tony Russo & “Quick Draw” Rick McGraw ended in a Double Disqualification at 9:34. Taking a page from “Continental Nobleman” Joe Turco’s book, Russo berated the city of Baltimore in his native Italian after Gary Cappetta’s match introductions. While most of the crowd probably didn’t understand what he was saying, they boo’d anyway giving Tony valuable heel points to work with. McGraw may have offset Russo’s bonus by rolling on his Technical Modifier, however he allowed himself to be drawn into a prolonged slugfest with the native of Palermo, Sicily. Referee Gilberto Roman tried to restore order but was simultaneously pushed down to the canvas by both men prompting the Double Disqualification.

2. Tank Patton over Rene Goulet by dubious means at 8:21. Although Goulet was at a distinct size disadvantage in this bout, he managed to utilize his speed and quickness to effectively stay one step ahead of the lumbering Patton. Tank grew increasingly frustrated by Goulet’s tactics, but caught a huge break when Referee Dick Woehrle became caught up in the action and took a bad spill to the mat. Patton seized the moment and bopped Rene in the head with his WWII helmet. The woozy official shook out the cobwebs to find Tank making the cover on his KO’d opponent and counted the pinfall.

3. “Cowboy” Bobby Duncum (w/ manager “Captain” Louis Albano) defeated Steve Travis at 11:55. Travis was definitely looking for some revenge on the big Cowboy after Duncum laid him out with a Bulldog at the Boston Garden a week ago. While this may have been a grudge match for Steve, he failed to inspire a crowd that remained largely indifferent. The loss of points hurt him dearly, as did the interference of Lou Albano. The Captain gave Travis a shove off the top rope before Steve could properly set himself on the turnbuckle to deliver a high risk maneuver. Travis crashed hard to the mat and was finished off by a big Elbow Drop from Duncum moments later.

4. The match between “Iron Greek” Spiros Arion and Tony Garea resulted in a Double Count Out at 7:35. Unlike Steve Travis in the preceding bout, Garea was warmly received in Baltimore and clearly had the crowd’s support throughout this tough contest. Arion, on the other hand, benefitted from some timely interference by his manager “Hollywood Fashion Plate” Classy Freddie Blassie along the way. Freddie nearly precipitated a pinfall on Tony after sneaking in a cheap shot with his teakwood cane. Garea barely kicked out and then went after Blassie to give him his comeuppance. Arion immediately bailed from the ring to come to his manager’s defense and ignited a brawl with Tony on the floor. The two continued to exchange haymakers on the floor while Referee Gilberto’s ten count went unanswered.

5. “Chief” Jay Strongbow, “High Chief” Peter Maivia & “Country Boy” Haystacks Calhoun won by DQ over the WWWF Tag Team Champion Valiant Brothers (Handsome Jimmy & Luscious Johnny) and their manager “Captain” Louis Albano at 10:20 in six-man tag team action. Referee Dick Woehrle had the unenviable task of trying to maintain order during this contest. The match eventually broke down into chaos with all six men battling it out in the ring. Woehrle would have been justified in disqualifying both teams, however he caught Johnny Valiant red-handed hitting Chief Jay Strongbow in the jaw with brass knucks and DQ’d the Valiants and Albano instead.

6. Bob Backlund over Superstar Billy Graham (w/ the Grand Wizard of Wrestling) in the Main Event. Always the consumate good sportsman, Backlund offered a handshake to Graham to begin the match and caught a boot to the midsection for his trouble. A roll on his Strength Modifier proved lucrative for the Superstar, however Backlund was able to counter with a roll on his Speed Modifier. In the end, it would be some cheating gone awry that would cost Graham this match. The Superstar removed the padding from one of the corner turnbuckles, but had his own forehead rammed into after a reversal by his opponent. Graham was busted open from the blow and bled profusely; so much so that Referee John Stanley deemed him unable to continue and awarded the contest to Backlund at 25:20.

1. "High Flyer" Greg Gagne put away Tom "Rocky" Stone with the Gagne Sleeper after a pair of Flying Drop Kicks to the chops at 4:21.

2. "Midnight Rocker" Shawn Michaels and "Mr. Electricty" Steve Regal were both counted out by Referee Marty Miller at 6:39 as they battled on the floor around ringside.

3. Anthony "Earthquake" Ferris stunned Doug "Pretty Boy" Somers (w/ "Playboy" Buddy Rose) with a victory at 7:54. Somers appeared to underestimate Ferris and took this match a little too lightly. The Pretty Boy was crushed by a running Avalanche in the corner from Big Anthony and then polished off with a Big Splash for the pin.

4. Ali Khan from Afghanistan (w/ Sheik Adnan El-Kaisee) over Baron Von Raschke via Count Out at 7:03. Credit El-Kaisee for this victory. The Sheik laid out Von Rashke on the floor with a blow to the head with his sheathed Arabian sword while Khan kept Referee Gary DeRusha occupied in the ring. The Baron was down and out for the subsequent ten count.

5. The popular team of Curt Hennig and Big Scott Hall were victorious over "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly & "Slick" Nick Kiniski (w/ Madusa Micelli) at 8:56. Big Scott put away a woozy Nick Kiniski with the Hallbuster (Bulldog) after the heels were given a noggin knocker in their own corner. Kelly attempted to break up the pin but was intercepted by a Missile Drop Kick off the top rope from Hennig as he entered the ring.

6. In the Main Event, the Wildman from Borger, Texas, Stan "The Lariat" Hansen defeated Leon "The Baby Bull" White at 8:23. Referee Marty Miller took the worst of a three man collision in the middle of the ring and was slow to recover. Hansen took advantage of the situation by removing one of his cowboy boots and clubbing the Baby Bull in the back of the head with it. The still-dazed Miller crawled over to count the pin on White.

Announcers: Ken Resnick & Larry "The Axe" Hennig
Ring Announcer: "Slick" Mick Karch
Referees: Bob Warren, Rich Frisk & Marty Miller

1. Tony Leone & Dennis Stamp had their problems contending with the popular duo of "Crusher" Jerry Blackwell & Baron Von Raschke. Showing amazing agility for a big man, Blackwell floored Leone with a Standing Drop Kick and then flattened him like a pancake with a Running Splash that shook the ring. Dennis Stamp ran in to try and break up the pin but got intercepted by the Goose-stepping Baron's Iron Claw Hold. Your winners: Blackwell & Von Raschke at 4:44.

2. The happy buzz in the arena created by tonight's first match quickly turned to jeers when "Playboy" Buddy Rose strutted his stuff down to ringside accompanied by his manageress "Sensational" Sherri Martel. Rose "treated" the fans to some jumping jacks and one-arm pushups, but not before correcting Karch's erroneous introduction of his weight which was announced at "271 lbs". The "Playboy" pointed out that the numbers had merely been transposed on "Slick" Mick's program and Rose was grudgingly re-introduced as weighing 217 lbs. Meanwhile, Rose's opponent "Beach Boy" Sonny Rogers was getting antsy in the ring with the delay and nearly scored a pinfall with a quick cradle from behind as soon as the bell rang to officially start the match. It was all downhill from there for the "Beach Boy" as Rose dominated the rest of the bout and won with his Las Vegas Jackpot DDT. The time of the fall was 3:46.

3. The vile "Mercenary from South Africa" and "Champion of Apartheid" Colonel DeBeers (w/ Beret, Twirling Mustache & a Ton of Heat from the Crowd) methodically took his opponent "Jamming" Mitch Snow apart and pinned him with the South African Facebuster at 4:37.

4. Curt Hennig (w/ Big Scott Hall) and "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly (w/ Nick Kiniski & Madusa Micelli) were both DQ'd by Referee Bob Warren at 6:14 when the bout degenerated into a four-man free-for-all as Kiniski and Hall joined in on the action.

5. "Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko spent the opening minutes of the match stalling in the ring, jawing with fans and arguing with Referee Rich Frisk before FINALLY locking up with "Polish Prince" Steve Olsonoski. The crafty Zbyszko feigned an injury on the mat and cradled his concerned opponent with a Small Package for the cheap pinfall at 7:55.

6. AWA Tag Team Title Match Main Event. Sheik Adnan El-Kaisee's duo of Boris Zhukov & Nord the Barbarian were defeated in their bid to unseat the Midnight Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) as tag team champions. The Sheik's men were atomic dropped into each other from opposite corners causing Zhukov to stagger backward into a Schoolboy Roll Up from Jannetty for the pinfall at 8:49. The Rockers retain their AWA Tag Team Titles !

1. The Russians (Yuri Gordyenko & Alexis Smirnoff) defeated the team of Tom "Rocky" Stone & Jake "The Milkman" Milliman at 3:52. Gordyenko & Smirnoff combined for a Double Hot Shot on the Milkman to score the pinfall.

2. "California Kid" Tommy Jammer was counted out in his match against Go the Ninja (w/ "Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko) at 6:06. The crafty Zbyszko heckled the popular California Kid throughout the contest. Jammer showed his inexperience by taking the bait and confronting Zbyszko on the floor while Referee Marty Miller laid the ten count on him.

3. The team of "High Flyer" Greg Gagne & "Olympian" Brad Rheingans over The Alaskans (Rick Renslow & Dave Wagner w/ War Clubs) at 5:39. Rheingans was able to pin Dave Wagner with the Bullet (Leaping Shoulder Tackle off the 2nd rope). Gagne has had a revolving door of tag team partners ever since Jim Brunzell left for the WWF.

4. Big Otto Wanz beat "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers (w/ "Playboy" Buddy Rose) at 7:26. Rose tried to help his partner by wedging a folding chair in the corner between the 2nd and top rope but the strategy backfired when Wanz sent the Pretty Boy head-first into it. Big Otto followed up with a Splash onto the dazed Somers for the three count.

5. Bruiser Brody (w/ Sheik Adnan El-Kaisee) defeated Leon "The Baby Bull" White at 7:55. A prematch sneak attack by Brody put Leon behind the 8-Ball before the bout even began. Brody took a chair to White's knee before the bell and never relented his attack for the entire match. White, the former Los Angeles Rams' lineman (and future Big Van Vader) had a history of knee problems during his NFL career. Brody's strategy paid off in aces when Leon's knee buckled as the Baby Bull lifted Brody up for a Body Slam. Brody fell on top of White for the winning pinfall.

6. AWA World Title Match. Champion Rick Martel and Stan "The Lariat" Hansen were both counted out at 12:20. These two men have had some wars during Martel's title reign and tonight was no different. Hansen and Martel sent fans scurrying in every direction as they took their battle into the crowd. Referee Gary DeRusha's count reached ten long before the participants ever made it back inside the ring. Rick Martel retains the AWA Title.
