The number on the card is not a uniform number, but the number of the generic card (1-50) the player received in the draft. The reason I've left these on is to keep a record of the player's current ability level. This number will be needed for the close season re-rating process (still to be nailed down, but it will involve an adjustment up or down from his current card number).
