1983 USFL WEEK 1
The Oakland Invaders stole the show in the new league with a convincing win over the Wranglers. George Allen's Chicago Blitz defense looked strong...or was it that the Federals of Washington are that weak on offense? Time will tell.

*Chicago Blitz 21 Washington Federals 3
*L. A. Express 22 New Jersey Generals 16

Week 2 Schedule
Chicago at Arizone....Can George Allen and the Blitz get to 2-0?
Michigan at Tampa Bay...Good matchup between two playoff contenders it would appear.
Birmingham at Oakland....a home win by Invaders would get them to a 2-0 great start
Boston st Denver....loser of this matchup is 0-2 so a big game for both squads
New Jersey at Philadelphia....this looks like a mismatch...knowing what we know now.
Washington at Los Angeles....appears to be an excellent chance for Express to be 2-0 |

1983 USFL Week 2
Four teams improved to 2-0 while four are 0-2 and four are 1-1. Jim Mora and the Stars are looking hard to beat. George Allen's Chicago Blitz wins big for 2nd week in a row.

*L. A. @ Arizona....Can Express get to 3-0?
*Oakland @ Michigan.....Oakland got enough firepower to go into Pontiac?
*Denver @ Chicago....Blitz are hoping to 3-0 and flip Gold to 0-3
*Tampa Bay @ New Jersey....Generals looking for 1st win of the season
*Washington @ Boston...Both offenses have had their struggles but look for a "breakout" for the home team
*Philadelphia at Birmingham....Stars O is only averaging 14 points, but D travels. Stallions only giving up 12 ppg. |

*Michigan Panthers 30 Oakland Invaders 24 (OT)....Panthers stay unbeaten
*Chicago Blitz 21 Denver Gold 10.....George Allen and the Blitz are unbeaten
*Tampa Bay Bandits 30 New Jersey General 18.....Bandit Ball is 2-1
*Boston Breakers 30 Washington Federals 18.....Yes, two straight 30-18 games as Feds fall to 0-3
*Philadelphia Stars 22 Birmingham Stallions 16 (OT).....Stars stay perfect as they squeeze by Stallions in OT

*Stallions 33 Wranglers 16...Arizona is one of only 2 teams with 0 wins
*Breakers 12 Generals 6.....New Jersey is that 2nd team without a win after 4 weeks
*Express 22 Blitz 18.....L.A. stays unbeaten
*Federals 20 Stallions 10...scarily enough, the Federals beat the Panthers in real life that week also!
*Stars 24 Bandits 13....Philadelphia stays unbeaten
*Gold 12 Invaders 8....Denver strikes Gold...finally! |
